The glasses selection is great, the store is clean, some of the workers make me not want to come back though. There used to be a very competent and personable/friendly optician woman who worked here, but for the past couple years I haven't seen her there and the experience is worse without her. The blonde middle-aged optician you're likely to interact with there is unfriendly, and uncommunicative. She comes off as very judgey, and like you're inconveniencing her. Customers just need a little friendliness and care; it's kind of a vulnerable thing trying to help yourself look well in a new pair of glasses. I hope LensCrafters puts some money into training for better soft skills.

This is an attractive shop just behind Trader Joes. Milli was very helpful, friendly, patient and professional. We found several frames that were comfortable and attractive. Thanks, Milli!

I would not recommend Lenscrafters unless you want to pay insane prices and markups. They add on prices for every little thing and do not explain what you are paying for. The receipt is very hard to understand. The sales associates act like they don't want to be bothered to help you. No one offered to help me at the door and just said, "feel free to look around". They never asked about my budget or what I was looking for. No one showed me what was where in the store. I had to go up to an employee each time I had a question. I would not recommend Lenscrafters and highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Milli at LensCrafters in the Trader Joe’s parking lot in Charlottesville was outstanding. They were professional, knowledgeable, and helped me choose the perfect pair of glasses with confidence. I especially appreciated how clearly they explained the features I needed. Great service from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
