I have been a member at One Life Fitness in Burke and have had disappointing experience. The facility feels overcrowded, making parking difficult and causing the shopping center’s lot to be congested. Inside, the bathrooms were not well-maintained, and I noticed cleaning towels being reused, which raised hygiene concerns. The sauna was too small for the number of members, leading to long waits. The pool water was often dirty, with visible hair, making it uncomfortable to swim. Additionally, the shower walls are only halfway up, causing water to splash out and making it uncomfortable, especially for taller individuals who can see others in the next shower. Because of these issues, my son also chooses not to use the showers. I also believe that the location in a shopping center isn’t ideal for a gym, and it would be better if it were relocated. I hope the Fairfax County Health Department will look into these concerns to ensure better safety and cleanliness.@ Fairfaxcounty.gov
Best gym in the area. Affordable, family friendly, great classes, warm pool and close to my house! To top it off, everyone who works there from branch manager to sales to floor staff are amazing.

The mind and body studio was disappointing. It lacked cubbies for items and shoes, yoga mat storage, good lighting, and cleanliness. One of the lower tier Onelife fitnesses I’ve been to.
Regardless of mentioning I need to cancel my membership due to medical reason they are refusing cancellation, I had to repeatedly let them know but yet they still refuse. Such a business that preys upon the sick and weak during their lowest point should be held accountable in the court of the people.
I think this Onelife facility needs to rethink a few things. There is an extreme focus on getting additional money from members that are visiting.
Seems like a racket to me just to make a few more bucks
I was in town for two days last week visiting my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas
I belong to Onelife here in Dawsonville, Georgia Where I pay for the premium membership for all the services. Our Onelife is brand new and has the same if not more facilities than the one in Burke plus all of the equipment works. and is very clean and new
The first day they gave me some song and dance about how they are a tier one facility and mine is a tier 3 or something like that. This is bs…. My facility is much better than theirs
They asked me to pay for an upgraded membership and I said I was in on vacation and would be leaving tomorrow. They backed off and said OK. You can work out today.
I need to point out that I travel a lot and I’ve bounced in to various Onelife locations across the country and never had a problem. Usually when I pop in somewhere other than my location I get a welcome, a smile, and enjoy yourself
At this facility in Burke even after they agreed to let me in, it was almost as if they were disappointed or gravely concerned that they were letting someone in without getting extra money from them… Very weird
The next day I came in, was again challenged by a different front desk person and asked to pay for an upgrade, I explained I was visiting, and I would be leaving today. He said OK But as I was walking past, yesterdays front desk person leaned over and said I had been in yesterday morning, she said I had used up my one “free” entry, which is so stupid, I am a paying member at a premium onelife.
I was told I was no longer allowed to use the facility without upgrading my membership and paying who knows how much more even though I Pay monthly for my premium membership back home
I said no way.
They asked me if I wanted to go talk to sales. Ridiculous! I said no thanks I’ve already paid and that I pay monthly.
Then, they said I could pay for a full day pass whatever the heck that is. Bottom line they just wanted money. More money than I already pay monthly.
They wanted money or I wasn’t getting in. I skipped my workout and walked out….
This is so stupid because I think I pay around 50 a month and I think the Burke membership might be 55 or 60 a month. which makes no sense because the Burke location is inferior to mine in Dawsonville, but whatever…Point is, all this over five or 10 bucks.?!
Since then, I’ve talked to two other individuals that have experienced the same crap at the Burke location. It’s as if this facility is so focused on an up charge that they’ve lost track of customer service.
I know these are individually owned And there’s nothing that the corporate franchise will do here. My hope is by writing this review you will consider this situation and before you join them, ask yourself if they treat members that are visiting this way how do they treat the members that actually belong?
It might make some sense if the facility I was coming from was one where I had some sort of base membership, but that is not the case
It looks to me like there’s a local problem in the Burke area where people are joining One life at different nearby locations at a lesser membership and then using their facility which Burke thinks is worth more.
All of which is fine except if you consider I’m from the Atlanta area, And pay full price for a brand new facility,
If I lived in the Burke VA area, I would not join this gym. AVOID!
