I absolutely love my new glasses! The service was excellent from start to finish. Doris helped me, and she was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. She was incredibly patient while I was choosing my frames and really helped me find the perfect pair for me. The glasses fit perfectly without any extra adjustments needed. I truly appreciate all her help. Thank you!

Edit: John sat with me and gave me a refund for my deductible to make it right with me. Expressed that he wants to keep me as a customer. Bumping up score to a 3/5. Man.. where do I begin. I considered waiting until my glasses are done before leaving this review so I wouldn’t get punished for the review or have my frames held hostage. But I decided to leave it now. I’ve never had such a hard time getting my prescription correct in the 27 years I’ve had a prescription. I’ve met with 3 Dr’s and had my prescription ran 4 times. (2x with Dr Weir, 1x with Dr Maamari, and lastly with Dr Campbell). The first 3 times, the prescription was so far off base that I couldn’t even see in my trial contacts. I have a new set of frames that I’m going into, and the prescription was so far off in those that I couldn’t take them until the prescription was corrected. In my most recent appointment before today (4th visit), Dr Campbell and I discussed how my current prescription in my current pair of glasses is comfortable, and I just wanted my new frames to have the same prescription which, again, the office already had the frames in their possession. I also just wanted to go one step down in my contacts. Simple enough.. a few days later, I get notified that my lenses for my frames are done, even though it hasn’t been long enough at all for the new prescription to come through. I called today to first make sure that the prescription was actually accurate so I wouldn’t have to make my 5th trip into the office (I live 30 minutes away) and walk out without my frames. I was told over the phone that it was accurate so I came in to get them. Great! However, when I came in, I realized the Dr Campbell had either ignored or forgotten what we had discussed, and the lenses were again, the wrong prescription. When trying to discuss this with John, he informed me that he had upgraded my lenses (which I’m grateful for even though I never asked him to and was not intending to pay for the upgraded lenses), but I admittedly am frustrated about even calling in advance to make sure I didn’t have to come in if my prescription was wrong, and yet, my prescription still being wrong. Overall score: Doctors Weir, Maamari, & Campbell score: 0/5 (avoid) glasses and contacts team members: 4/5 (offered discounts and were overall nice) Average score: 2/5

When I went for my eye exam, the optometrist was very confusing - he kept telling me I had 20/20 vision, but I don't because I wear glasses and then he'd agree that I didn't, then say I did, again. After I was finished I waited to have my frames (that were given to me for Christmas) fitted with the RX lenses. Kept waiting and waiting and waiting. Finally a guy comes out of the back room and without really talking to me gets the lenses ordered. I have really good insurance (Cigna) and supposedly it covered 150 dollars but still my lenses came to almost 500 dollars. Yes, they are progressive lenses, but I've never spent that much on them before. Also, my insurance didn't cover the eye exam itself, and that's not possible, because that's the first thing it should have taken care of. Anyhow, I was going to refer my husband and kids here, but now we will find a different optometrist elsewhere. You'd think that a national chain would have better customer service and prices. Guess not.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
