I called Saturday the 27th to transfer my prescription because my insurance was being dumb. I gave the tech my name and birthday, prescription info as well as the other pharmacy, and my insurance info. I told her it wasn't a huge rush as it wasn't an absolutely critical medication. I had to work Monday and Tuesday, so the first day I could follow up was Wednesday. I called and they said they didn't have it and would need to call again, to which I said okay. I called Thursday, and they said they still didn't have it and didn't know what I was talking about and they could call again. I said forget it and called my pharmacy to get it refilled without insurance. They said they had transferred it to Smith's on Monday after a pharmacist named Sam called and asked for it. So I called Smith's back and told them it had been transferred to Sam on Monday. Suddenly, miraculously, the pharmacist was able to find it, and told me they'd had it ready for several days but didn't have my phone number to call and tell me. I went to pick it up a couple hours later, and I was finally asked for my phone number by the cashier, which I declined to give cause I won't be filling with them again. They also asked my allergies, which I refused to give for the same reason. She then asked if I had insurance, even though I had already given them my insurance. She then informed me they needed to refill the prescription because they hadn't filled it correctly, and needed to give me 90 day supply for insurance. My questions, which I asked a very uncaring pharmacist, are why didn't they ask for my phone number any of the previous times that I called, and why could they suddenly and miraculously find it when I called back the last time? Took almost a week to get a prescription that should have taken two days.

This isn't a review on the staff. They are friendly and helpful. However this location recently tried to charge me over 500 for a prescription that only costs 28 bucks. How can the insurance companies keep getting away with price gouging their customers? Insurance premiums cost my family and I over 500 a month just to be told doctors appointment cost 500 bucks and the prescription costs 5000% more than real price. Going to a local doctors while my insurance has lapsed has brought this to light. Full care is 80 a month, and you can get a discount card if you don't have insurance so there is real price transparency bringing the price down to insurance levels. How is it legal to keep forcing people to pay into a system that in fact makes health care cost 5000% more? This review will stay at a one star however they deserve 0 because what they are doing is legally helping the insurance companies steal from hard working Americans and it should not be tolerated any longer.

I went to Smith's to pick up my prescription on Sunday June 29th. I was the only person in line at the in store counter and a car was waiting at the drive through window. The technician said to me that she'd be with me in a minute and then went to help the person at the drive up window. She knew the person at the drive through window and began talking to her about her personal life. I forgot one item at the store so I thought, 'since there is no line here I'll go and grab this item and when I get back she'll be done chatting with this lady at the drive through window.' I WAS WRONG! After I came back the tech was still talking to her friend at the drive through window about her personal life. After about 1 minute of standing in line I was REALLY annoyed,. and I said, "Excuse me! could I please get helped, I've been waiting a long time". The Pharmacist came out from behind the prescription racks because he heard what I said to the tech and the Pharmacist told me that I need to be patient and that he didn't appreciate the way I was talking to his pharmacist tech. I said, "We'll maybe 'll just transfer all my prescriptions to another pharmacy then and he told me that he would prefer that I do that and not do business with them if I can't be patient.
It's one thing to be patient while the tech is doing her job BUT It's quite another thing to be patient while she's chatting with someone about her personal life. I think that's bad business and I will certainly transfer my prescriptions out of there and never do business with Smith's pharmacy again.
UPDATE: I transferred my prescriptions to Costco and with my Costco membership I am saving about 30.00 dollars on my prescriptions. I guess this turned out for the best and Costco seems to care about customer service because the second a line started forming at the pharmacy they opened all their windows to move the line faster! SMITHS never did that!

I am visiting Utah from out of state and I decided to extend my stay. In doing so, I was going to run out of a few daily meds. I chose to give Smith’s a try as I’m not a fan of chain pharmacies. I was very pleasantly surprised at the ease in which Smith’s handled my request. The pharmacy tech, Jase, went above and beyond when my insurance shot down my much needed inhaler. She searched for coupons and took her time to assure that I was getting the most affordable price. After diligently searching for a solution, I was able to get my inhaler cheaper than I can back home. Jase was so very helpful and patient dealing with me, an out of towner, whom she had never met before. I highly recommend Smith’s pharmacy of Springville if you have any pharmacy needs while traveling here in Utah. Jase took the stress out of moving scripts from out of state. She was a true lifesaver in my time of need. Her kindness was unmatched and I will be forever grateful that Jase was able and willing to help.
