Young Family Dental continues to impress me with every appointment. The office is spotless, the staff is cheerful, and the dentist is incredibly skilled. My procedure went smoother than expected, and I felt no discomfort at all. I’m thankful to have found a place like this.

Everyone was nice. However when I got my cleaning one of my fillings was broken to was a believe over aggressiveness. When I pointed it out the cleaner said she wasn’t strong enough to do it. She then told me that it has to get fixed ASAP so that bacteria doesn’t build up. So I figured it was gonna get fixed the same day. I was wrong. They said the soonest they could get me in was 3 weeks later. That just made me feel like they wanted more issues to arise so they could do more work.

I’ve been to this dental office several times over the past few years, but after my most recent visit, I don’t think I’ll be returning. I went in for a routine cleaning and to have a couple of cavities filled. When they first told me about the cavities, they never showed me the X-rays or explained which ones were most urgent, which is something every other dentist I’ve been to has always done. When I asked to see them before the fillings today, I was brushed off and told that they were “all the same size,” and they showed me the cartoon versions of the teeth with red marks on it, but I still wasn’t shown any X-rays or given an in depth explanation. None of my teeth were bothering me, which made me question how serious the cavities really were.
Devin, the hygienist, is absolutely wonderful. She’s the main reason my husband and I have kept coming back and giving this place more chances. She’s professional, kind, and always makes me feel comfortable. Unfortunately, the rest of today’s experience was the opposite. The assistant seemed to be in training which is fine, but during setup she handled the tools that went into my mouth without wearing gloves, which made me very uncomfortable. I didn’t say anything out of fear of being a ‘Karen’ but honestly that is something that should not happen. It is highly unsanitary and unprofessional.
When the doctor came in, he filled two cavities in what felt like less than five minutes. He worked extremely fast, was rough with my teeth, and at one point even talked about how bad he felt and how he just wanted to go home while sitting directly over me with my mouth open. The whole appointment felt rushed and impersonal.
I’ve had a lot of dental work done throughout my life, and this was honestly one of my worst experiences. The atmosphere of the office always feels cold and transactional, and this visit just confirmed that impression. Being charged $500 for two fillings (after a 20% insurance discount) feels excessive for the quality of care I received. When I looked up average pricing in Utah it came out to be $300 for two teeth at the high range so I feel absolutely taken advantage of.
I’m really disappointed because I’ve tried to give this place multiple chances, but after today, I can’t recommend it.
