  Did not have a good experience. I was texting and also had some phone calls pre procedure and they told me my insurance would cover the majority of it. She told me the anesthesia was covered 100% if not that, 80%. She told me she would definitely recommend anesthesia especially to do the sinus lift. I was in and out of the office in about an hour and a half. Everything went well procedure wise. Ended up getting a bill for around 1500.00 and when I called they were extremely unhelpful. Stephanie who is in charge of the billing was extremely rude. She was not helpful at all explaining why my insurance didn't cover anything. She told me I was trying to catch her in her words when I was just inquiring. She refused to pull up any past conversations about the cost I was told, and hung up on me. They didn't even do the sinus lift because he said they don't usually do that day of extraction so I didn't even need to be put under and then they charged me three times for anesthesia...longer than the amount of time I was even in the office. I had a text my mom sent my husband telling me I was home and everything went well and that was about an hour and a half after the procedure and they still charged me almost $700 for anesthesia. They weren't helpful at all trying to figure out why my insurance didn't cover ANYTHING, they just kept telling me I needed to pay it. They sent me to collections and refused to let me see the doctor to try and get this sorted out. It was an absolute disaster. I feel like they were completely dishonest in their billing. I felt totally ripped off and all they had to do was recode it for insurance and nothing ever came of it. My insurance told us they just needed to recode it correctly and give a better explanation and it never happened. It all felt shady and dishonest.

  Dr. Maxfield and the amazing staff at Oral and Facial Surgery of Utah are phenomenal. My procedure and recovery went smoothly. If you’re looking for a great experience and expert care with implants or wisdom teeth removal, I would highly recommend going here. I’ll definitely be bringing my own kids back when it’s time for their wisdom teeth to come out!

  was not aware that a consultation would cost $200 when I made the appointment or when I was in office. All they said is that the paperwork stated they would “bill my insurance”. Make sure you clarify with these people.

  My son’s wisdom teeth removal went extremely smoothly with no real pain & same day recovery. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a skilled & kind oral surgeon.
