- DMDJ MontgomeryAug 11, 20261.0I’m extremely disappointed with how NEWPA handled our insurance issue and how we were treated throughout the process. My child’s well‑child exam was billed to the wrong insurance because my former employer accidentally extended my UHC coverage by an extra month. Once we discovered this mistake, NEWPA was hesitant to provide any support, even though the insurance information we originally gave them was accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time. When we called for assistance, the staff were openly rude and dismissive toward both my wife and me. Instead of listening or trying to help, they repeatedly told us the balance was our responsibility and made it clear they had no interest in resolving the issue. Their attitude turned a simple mistake into a genuinely stressful experience. NEWPA even threatened to send us to collections over a preventive exam that was billed incorrectly due to an insurance error we didn’t cause. Rather than work with us, advocate with the insurer, or follow UHC’s directive to file a provider appeal, they chose to pressure us financially. I ultimately escalated the matter to the Wyoming Department of Insurance myself, and UHC ended up paying the claim; exactly what NEWPA insisted would never happen. NEWPA’s unwillingness to help, their rude treatment of our family, and their willingness to threaten collections created a lasting negative impression. Families deserve better support, professionalism, and basic respect.
