PodiatristGeneral Practitioner
Advanced Foot and Ankle of Wisconsin was founded in 2006 with the premise to provide excellence in all aspects of foot and ankle care. Drawing from his experience in developing community podiatry offices in Racine and Beloit for the underprivileged, Dr. Michael Kokat ultimately chose to expand into Burlington, WI, which had a need for expert surgical podiatry services.
After working with orthopedic surgeons and large podiatry groups in Milwaukee, Dr. Kokat felt he could provide exceptional service and value to his patients as an independent provider. His goal was to put the CARE back into patient care. In 2013, the company expanded into the Brookfield and Milwaukee area. It was clear that his service and dedication to patients was making a direct impact on the communities he served.

Frequently Asked Questions About Advanced Foot and Ankle of Wisconsin, LLC
What are the benefits of seeing a board-certified podiatrist for ankle pain?
Seeing a board-certified podiatrist for ankle pain offers several benefits. Firstly, a board-certified podiatrist has undergone specialized training and possesses expertise in diagnosing and treating foot and ankle conditions. They can accurately assess the underlying cause of the ankle pain and develop a personalized treatment plan.
Additionally, a board-certified podiatrist can provide guidance on effective pain management strategies and preventive measures to avoid future ankle problems. By seeking care from a qualified professional, individuals can ensure proper care, improve recovery time, and reduce the risk of complications.
How can I find relief from ankle pain in the short term?
There are several ways to find short-term relief from ankle pain. You can try applying ice to reduce swelling, elevating your foot to reduce inflammation, and using over-the-counter sprained ankle medication like NSAIDs (ibuprofen). It's also helpful to avoid activities that aggravate the pain and to rest your ankle as much as possible. If the pain persists or worsens, it's important to consult a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
Is ankle treatment near me typically covered by insurance?
Most Wisconsin healthcare plans cover ankle treatment from a board-certified podiatrist.
