  At my first visit here in Kenosha, I learned that the hearing aids I had were almost 10 yrs old and that I would benefit for an upgrade. I mentally scoffed but then was given a sample to try. WOW! It was amazing! The difference was dramatic: a test showed that with my old hearing aids I heard words correctly at only 3/10! With the new version, my score went to 78%! From 30% to 78% is huge! Since my income is well below federal standards, I applied to the Miracle Ear Foundation and was approved - yay! I am really, really grateful for the Foundation providing The Gift of Hearing - as it truly IS the gift to hear clearly! This will be long if you don't want to read the rest. Once the new hearing aids arrived, I started taking notes on what I noticed: 1. As I began driving home, I heard ice clinking in my metal water cup 2. How loud the keys were 3. All the different sounds in the car 4. My own voice! 5. Sounds I realized I would need to learn to differentiate 6. Sounds I haven’t heard in years – even with my previous hearing aids! Over this year of wearing my new hearing aids, 1. I find that my own voice still surprises me and makes me go “Huh!” 2. I’ve experienced tinnitus for many years and now clearly notice that it almost disappears when I am wearing my hearing aids. 3. My friend gets impatient with me if, for whatever reason, I’m not wearing my hearing aids (which is rare, but still). She hates having to repeat whatever she said and I end up having to apologize that I’m not wearing my hearing aids, like when I recently had shoulder surgery! At least this provides me with another incentive to “wear your hearing aids!” :-) 4. I can now look people in the eye rather than having to lip read while talking with them. That’s kind of a big one! Even with my previous (old) hearing aids, I had begun to avoid being around groups of people as I couldn’t hear whoever I was conversing with. I realized I was beginning to isolate. Today, I have no problem being with groups of people! This is huge! It means I can go with friends to a restaurant, go to a concert or play, and enjoy a gathering once again. Wow! At 81 years old, I felt like “one of those old people” who stayed home, turned the sound up louder, and avoided family gatherings. Today, I once again can go in public, enjoy a concert or play, and enjoy a gathering of family and friends. So my world, which had begun to seriously shrink has opened up again and made it possible for me to participate in life once more. This has literally brought me back into living once more! I hope others who find their lives shrinking due to not being able to hear will find the freedom that hearing brings! I am so grateful to the Miracle Ear Foundation for the Gift of Sound! This is an invaluable gift and has opened my life up into the freedom hearing brings. I am sincerely grateful!

  I bought my hearing aids from Miracle Ear in Dunedin Florida. When I came to Kenosha recently to visit family, I developed a problem with one of my hearing aids. I drove over to the Kenosha store to tell them about it and they took care of it without me having to make an appointment or pay for anything. In my experience it is rare for a company to provide such excellent on-the-spot service and repair. Thank you Melissa and Sam!!! I had hearing aids from another company in the past and this product and service is superior. I am delighted.
