Urgent care is located within the emergency department, which means the same highly trained clinicians will provide your care. During triage (the initial nursing assessment) the nurse determines and informs you whether you meet criteria for urgent care or emergency care. If your condition worsens and you need to be transitioned from urgent care to emergency care, you will be able to stay in the same department.
