I arrived on time 8:45pm for my 9:00pm appointment. Door was locked. Gently knocked on glass doors. No response. Called the phone #on the door. Followed the phone tree. Recorded voice let me know a technician will be with me shortly. After 5 minutes I called again. I’m feeling more and more anxious. I’m thinking maybe I’m at the wrong place! After 10 minutes alone in the lot, a very impatient man arrived. That’s a whole other story. The person answering the door scolded me for not using the doorbell. In my defense, I told the person, “There is no sign that reads, “Ring the Bell”, nor does the answering phone message let anyone know to ring the tiny beige button. The only truly noticeable device is a key pad and a sign that reads, “Enter Your Code”, if you are checking in.” Needless to say, I did NOT feel welcome upon arrival. I did not know what to expect at all. For instance, it takes a full hour to hook you up to 32 electrodes. Blobs of a gluey waxy substance is stuck to one’s head. My tech told me how to remove it with copious amounts of hair conditioner. No dimmer for office type GLARING lights. No lamp, no ambiance whatsoever. Not even a top sheet on the bed. So much more to say. I have nothing to compare it to. I wish I had been better prepared. My tech was friendly. The mattress seemed ok. I’m glad I brought my own pillow and blanket. It would have been nice to have a luggage rack instead of an office chair. A piece of art, PNW nature photography would help. I would NOT take the pill to “knock me Out” for several reasons. Fortunately I slept enough for the study to reveal severe sleep apnea according to the PA and report. I hope this helps folks to set realistic expectations.
