Their caregiver showed up right on time for dad's morning routine and handled everything with such care. The person they matched us with really understood his needs and made conversation that kept him engaged throughout the visit. Communication with their office has been smooth when we needed to adjust the schedule. Excellent solution for homeschool families managing elderly parent care.

quick meeting break to check on dad's caregiver situation. home instead matched us with someone who actually shows up on time and handles the medication reminders without constant supervision.

Some reviewers said the caregivers feel rushed, and that has not been our experience at all. The visits feel calm and unhurried, like she actually has time to sit and talk and not just check boxes. That alone changed how the afternoons go.
Started a few weeks back after looking at a handful of agencies around the north end. The office returned calls quickly when we needed to shift a Tuesday around an appointment. Light housekeeping gets handled without being asked twice. Medication reminders are written out near the kitchen counter so nothing gets missed. One small thing, the binder they leave on the table is a little bulkier than I expected, but mom likes flipping through the notes so it works out. Transportation back from the clinic felt safe, careful driver, no complaints there.
Trust the reviews that talk about specific tasks and scheduling, skip the vague ones. Those gave us the clearest picture before we signed on.

Set up a small lunchtime celebration at the house for a coworker whose mom has been receiving care here for a while, and the caregiver who was on shift just folded right into the day without missing a beat. She had already prepped a softer plate so mom could eat with us at the table instead of separately, which really made the whole thing.
What I kept noticing was how much smiling went on. Real warmth, not the polite kind. Mom stayed in her own robe and slippers, in her own living room, and you could tell she felt like the guest of honor instead of a patient. After cake, the caregiver walked her out to the back patio for some fresh air while we cleaned up. That little outdoor stretch seems to be part of the routine here and it matters more than people realize.
We had tried a different agency before this one and the difference in consistency is night and day. Same faces, actual follow through, and the office picks up when you call. Schedule changes for the party week were handled without any drama.
Happy to host another little gathering around her care schedule again. Already thinking about doing something small for Father's Day in the same setup. Felt like family helping family, which is what you want.

The folks at the office know me by name when I call now, and that has meant a lot over the past few months. My wife passed two years back and the quiet got to be a heavy thing, especially around birthdays. Turned 78 a few weeks ago on a Tuesday evening. The caregiver who comes by Mondays and Wednesdays remembered. Brought a small lemon cake she had picked up. Nothing fancy. We sat at the kitchen table by the window and ate slow. She had already made a chicken and rice dish earlier that I could heat up, and the kitchen was tidy when she left, the way my wife used to leave it. That kind of thing matters more than people know. Caregivers smile a lot, which sounds like a small detail but it lands different when you live alone. They have been steady about showing up on time, and when there was a schedule change one week somebody from the office called me directly to walk through it. No surprises. The woman who handles my visits is patient with my hearing and never rushes through the medicat
