WAS a customer for years, but something changed since 2023. It took over 11 WEEKS to get new lenses in 2 pairs of existing frames that were PURCHASED there... HOWEVER, THEY LOST MY ORIGINAL FRAMES & GLASSES... HOW DOES A LAB LOSE TWO PAIRS OF GLASSES???
Then they said that those frames weren't offered now... allowed me to chose any frame in the store. Those took over 2 wks & they were completely wrong, had my eye Dr. verify the RX was incorrect.
THEN I noticed THAT THEY DID HAVE THE same frames they lost! Into this now over a MONTH & a HALF, I couldn't take my glasses and go elsewhere because they were LOST...
AGAIN, I ordered 2 sets of glasses like I had with the same frames, waited over 2 wks again, had to call twice AFTER 2 weeks to see if they in... the one pair w/o tint was fine, the tint on the other pair was way too light. Why didn't they have samples of the tinted lens options instead of guessing? They had them in this store in 2023...
There were 3 options experienced was... one Very lite, light, and extra dark... In 2023 they had sample lenses, and the 2 sets of glasses I bought then were perfect the first time in a very reasonable amount of time.
Waited ANOTHER 2 weeks for the tinted glasses, and again, had to call in 2 times after the 2 weeks to find out if they were in.
SO, after 11 WEEKS from the beginning of what should have been a very, very simple process of getting new lenses in about 2 weeks, I finally have my glasses. The tint is lighter than what I had originally, but it's acceptable.
This spanned almost THREE FULL MONTHS.
ONE other reason for 1 star... PRICE... I only needed two sets of LENSES CHANGED in the FRAMES I bought there. LENSES ONLY...
I left there and bought TWO COMPLETE SETS OF GLASSES at COSTCO after this, WITHOUT ANY INSURANCE COVERAGE for those and paid only $5.30 MORE... TWO SETS OF GLASSES with NEW FRAMES, NO INSURANCE...only $5.30 MORE...
This experience at PV might have been an anomaly, but based on prices with insurance and how long this took, I can't recommend them any more... I used to, they WERE great... The staff was pleasant and helpful, but... 11 weeks, the same price as TWO full sets of glasses at Costco for what I paid with an insurance for two sets of lenses only????
THIS STORE WAS NOT LIKE THIS BEFORE... been going there for what is likely well over 10 years, their records only go back 5 years... of course, YMMV and others may NOT experience a fiasco like this.
Oh, the other thing was every time we made a change, I got an EMAIL request for feedback... since I had NOT received the product yet, I waited to provide feedback... finally got the product and the links to their FEEDBACK had expired... so here I am... sharing the experience and I hoping others don't get to enjoy the same. They are at a convenient location, easy to work with... but... something went very wrong with the overall process and costs... Since the people working there were pleasant to work with, this could be a problem with the LAB they are using... if so, the folks there can explain that in response to this. Incompetence in the supply chain has increased... And options with glasses are harder to come by. There was a glass shop that could do glasses while you wait, not any more unless your RX falls within their limits. People often blame Amazon and Costco for their loss of business, but they really need to look at their own supply chain and suppliers, smaller businesses are much nicer and easier to work with. I hope others post good reviews about this store, and hoping this was just one of those situations where everything went wrong. But if others have seen the same... well, caveat emptor.
