I went in for what should have been a routine eye exam, and shortly afterward I developed an infection in my eyelid that was diagnosed as a fungal infection. This was extremely upsetting, especially because I went to an eye-care facility expecting proper hygiene and safe practices. I am very concerned about the circumstances surrounding the infection and whether appropriate sanitation and infection-control procedures were followed during my visit. A routine eye exam should not leave a patient dealing with an infection and the stress, discomfort, and additional medical care that comes with it. I would strongly encourage the management of this location to take my experience seriously and review their cleaning and infection-control procedures. Based on my experience, I would not feel comfortable returning to this location.
