I was butchered by a St Albans dentist this week, and sent packing with a problem tooth still making my face swell, strands of gum left dangling… they literally stopped mid tooth and sent me away.
So Plainfield Dental, Dr Andrew, squeezed me in the next day. Amazing. Totally new patient, worked me in. But the St Albans place “forgot” to let Plainfield know I needed sedation, and they had to turn me away.
I was defeated and angry. Drove an hour and a half with two kids in tow, for nothing. I am glad I was so defeated I didn’t cause a scene.
About 5 mins down the road I get a call from a Plainfield number, and frankly I don’t even know why I answered it - I’m notorious for letting it go to voicemail, and as said I was mad. But I answered.
Lauren, a nurse, had heard what went down, again, barely 10 minutes ago. She told me she looked into my case and asked a few particulars (when I’d eaten last, etc), and told me to turn around right now.
She said she was personally waiting for me, and Dr Andrew (who again I’ve never seen or gone to before now) said “we aren’t letting him suffer over the weekend.”
So I went back. Lauren met me, was very very sweet (nobody was anything but professional too to bottom, don’t get me wrong), and I got to chat with Dr Andrew briefly and his bedside manner was exactly as his fans had said: very old school, care-about-you vibe.
He also did INCREDIBLE work.
I had no cavities, nothing dental ever other than a couple wisdom teeth, until I was 35 then all hell broke loose. I’ve had singles extracted, a couple at once, and now SEVEN. And dr Andrew’s work is MILES ahead of everyone else. I got dry socket once, I still smoked then so totally my fault, but I was careful otherwise. This round my only concern is how amazingly well he did - I have no pain, not even lingering tooth hole pain… it’s like he wasn’t even there. I can’t tell you how amazed I am. Feeling around as I type they feel fully healed, where a single tooth has taken weeks to feel better.
Anyway, thank you Lauren, thank you Dr Andrew, and thank the rest of the ladies who helped. I begged Lauren to tell me if I was rude, she says I wasn’t and I really hope so because I know the bureaucratic stuff isn’t there fault, so if I was rude to anyone you have my deepest apologies.
Thank you Plainfield, sincerely.
