Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

My sister uses Kroger as her pharmacy (6+ years)—the best pharmacy tech is Chris! He really goes above and beyond to help if there’s a question or issue; exemplary customer service & knowledge. Outstanding service from him every time.

AGAIN problems with Kroger Pharmacy! My doctor sent a Rx to this pharmacy on 3/25/26. Called the pharmacy on 4/02/26 only to find out my Rx WASN'T READY! Told person who answered phone to get it ready so I could pick it up. She said she would send me a text and then HUNG UP ON ME! SO MEAN AND UGLY! I'm going to transfer my Rxs to another pharmacy! Tired of always calIng them about my Rxs only to find out that they're not ready! ALSO, DON'T NEED TO DEAL WITH STAFF THAT IS SNOTTY AND RUDE!

First time utilizing the Kroger Pharmacy located inside the Kroger Marketplace on Holland Road in Virginia Beach. I must say this is an impressive operation with the amount of OTC items in inventory...it's huge! I needed a few tings for a trip as precaution, but did not require a script pick up. I found the area clean and overall nicely stocked. Something missing unless I did not see was a blood pressure machine. I now use them often to see how I'm doing, so this would be a great addition. So a bit sneaky I admit, but I checked out all my groceries + two OTC items at the pharmacy to avoid the storm lines that were insane!!! The cashier understood with a slight roll of the eye and smile. It was a friendly encounter and smooth transaction. Next time I come I'm gonna let them jab me for a pending vax I je The items purchased also go toward fuel points, so bonus!

WORST pharmacy I've ever had to deal with! My doctor called in a Rx to Kroger for me and I received an Email from Kroger that same day saying they had received the order but it wasn't ready yet and they would let me know when it was. NEVER heard another wiord from Kroger! Eight days later I called Kroger and they said my Rx WASN'T READY and they asked when did I need it! Told them I NEEDED IT EIGHT DAYS AGO! They said it would be ready the next morning. This happens ALL THE TIME AT KROGER! Don't know what their PROBLEM is?! They take FOREVER to fill a new Rx! DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND KROGER PHARMACY!
