Vaccinations
Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.
This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.
This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.
There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.
These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.
This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.
These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.
Physical & Wellness Screenings
Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.
When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.
Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

This is the worst place to get your prescriptions. No body answers the phone, prescription are never ready when they say they will be. I have called in prescriptions on a Saturday and a week later they are still not ready. Very bad services.

Their pharmacy department has completely collapsed. I am transferring my prescriptions elsewhere.
Sadly, this is a common experience at CVS, too. Their computer and phone systems “change their minds” often. Since I always grocery shop at Kroger, I have learned when is best time to arrive.

Most of the staff members are quite nice. The store, however, needs more staff. It isn't unusual for me to stand in line 20-60 minutes (sometimes I get lucky and there is no line, but it isn't often). With increasing frequency I'm told my prescriptions aren't ready after being told they would be at a certain time. One time recently, I came back 4 times to get told each time the prescription wasn't ready even though they said it would be ready by that time. Finally I sat and waited so it seems like that is what finally prompted them fill it. At this point the only reason we use them is bc it is the lowest price we can find for most of our prescriptions. Today I let the phone ring over 20 minutes and no answer. So I called the store and was told only the pharmacist is working, there is a line and they could take my number to be called back when the pharmacist has a chance. This tells me when I try to get my prescription tonight it's likely I'll stand in line a long time, then I'll be told it's not ready. I will say I'll wait and then plop myself down, then it will be filled. Otherwise I'll go tomorrow and wait in line for 20-60 minutes, and do it again the next day, etc. I should not have to carve out 90 minutes per week to pick up prescriptions.

Update Feb. 2022
Transferred profile to another pharmacy today after being completely traumatic experience with two clerks at the pharmacy today. After being told that my RX wasn't filled which is a controlled drug, so I was out of it and it was supposed to be ready at one and I was there at 2. I was told not to ever believe the app and the time it tells and to come back the next day. I told the clerk I couldn't and I had to work and it was supposed to snow in the morning. I could wait. She told me to get out of line. Even recommended I go all the way to Waynesboro store and that it wasn't that far. My husband and I started to get upset at her attitude and the other lady said she could have us "put out" if we didn't leave". I said I needed my RX. She started to use the f word. We sat down and didn't say a word. She continued to try to antagonize my husband behind the counter muttering and slamming things who didn't respond and tell customers about "that man". My husband walked away as I sat quietly. After 30 minutes they filled my RX with no pharmacist in sight. I had my profile transferred, complained to the store manager and left.
Summer 2021 Horrible service. The last two prescriptions that were faxed here we're somehow lost. Getting through on the phone is near impossible.....maybe after being on hold for over thirty minutes will someone answer. Picking up prescriptions will take an hour in the drive thru. I unfortunately have to use this place because it's the only pharmacy that accepts Good RX Gold.
