  I had to wait a while because Dr G got called into surgery, but I completely understand that and everyone was nice and kept apologizing to me for the wait. Dr G is probably the most personable doctor I’ve ever had. I wish he was my PCP. Great place and great staff

  I saw Dr. Manafi at LewisGale Hospital for an open fracture, and from start to finish, he was exceptional. He was compassionate, took the time to explain everything clearly, and demonstrated incredible skill as a surgeon. He took me into surgery in the middle of the night and truly saved my life. This happened back in December, and now I’m fully healed and living in another state. My current doctor even told me that Dr. Manafi did a phenomenal job. I’m beyond grateful for the care I received.

  From check-in to rooming to being seen by Dr. Young, we had the most friendly, efficient and thorough care! Everyone was very education-oriented in their interactions pre and post procedure which was important to us; the clinical teams bedside manner including Dr. Young was top tier. Great team!

  Dr. Manafi treated my broken toe with pin fixation while I was in the hospital. I was very nervous at the time, but he took the time to walk me through the procedure step by step and explained everything clearly, which really put me at ease. Although I was unable to follow up with him afterward, another surgeon later told me that he did excellent work and that I healed well. He is a highly skilled trauma surgeon, and I’m very grateful for the care I received.

  I was under Dr. Manafi’s care throughout the Fall of 2025. He was one of the most attentive and caring doctors that I have ever known. I arrived at the ED on a Saturday, and my surgery was the very next day. Dr. Manafi was uncomfortable delaying care any longer, given that I had a serious infection. I believe my hospital course was much easier because of his early prioritization of the surgery. Throughout my recovery, there were numerous setbacks. Wound healing is always tricky in people with diabetes. Throughout all of this, Dr. Manafi was patient and always encouraged me not to push myself in ways that would hinder my body's healing. He dealt with my not being such a great patient directly. Once I got with the program and took his recommendations to heart, my wound started to close. His remarkable patience and attentiveness saw me through. This is the mark of a great healer. He balances his medical knowledge with devotion to caring for me as a whole person. I highly recommend Dr. Manafi and the team at Foot and Ankle Specialists of Southwest Virginia.
