The steam room has been broken for nearly three months, and management keeps giving new “expected repair dates” that come and go with zero resolution. At this point, it feels less like a repair delay and more like a cost-saving strategy. One of the sauna heaters has also been broken since I joined, so even the basic amenities they advertise are not being properly maintained. The locker rooms are another issue entirely. They are not cleaned to the standard you would expect from a gym charging premium membership fees. There has literally been the same mud stain on the floor for months. Months. The ice bath is disgusting and clearly not maintained properly either. For a gym that presents itself as upscale, the actual condition of the facilities is embarrassing. From a distance, it looks polished. Once you actually use the amenities, it becomes obvious how neglected everything is. I pay around $200 a month. Where is that money going? Because it is clearly not going toward maintenance, cleanliness, or fixing the amenities members are paying for. If management is concerned about reviews like this spreading, the solution is simple: stop making excuses, stop giving fake timelines, and start maintaining the facility properly. There is no reasonable excuse for a steam room to be out of service for almost three months at a premium-priced gym.

Been going to this gym for 18 months now. It is clean, up to date, and one of the higher end gyms in the area. Staff is great and hardworking. Cons: LGBTQ community is very strong and as a straight man the locker room can be a bit overwhelming. Some men do not have respect for others which is not a fault of the gym but something to keep in mind if you want to change without possibly having another man staring at you or bending over naked in your face. Shower curtains smell moldy because they are fabric and due to it being curtains it can leave you exposed on the sides. The shower walls are like a black mirror and I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen men use that as an advantage to get a peek of who’s showering. My personal experience in the locker room is not the same for everyone, but i have found that this happens to me more often in the morning between 10Am - 1pm. This could be resolved by me not using the locker room and showering after my workout, but a strong reason I selected this gym is because of the cleanliness and styling of the locker room. Guest passes are $25 and they do not replenish your passes. Once used, no more guests unless it’s open house or you pay the fee.

I’ve been a member at VIDA Fitness for about a year now, and my mom is actually a founding member, so I’ve seen the gym from both a long-term and more recent perspective. When I first joined, the experience felt aligned with the “luxury” brand they promote. The classes are still a highlight because they’re engaging, well-run, and one of the main reasons I’ve stayed. I also genuinely like the bar area, and most of the food I’ve had has been solid. That said, the biggest issue for me, and it’s a major one… is cleanliness. It’s honestly disturbing to see the same stains on the gym floors day after day. I understand the flooring is a neutral color, but that’s not an excuse for it to look visibly dirty all the time. The areas near the windows and equipment are especially bad. At $200/month, I expect a consistently clean facility, and that standard is not being met. The bathrooms are no better. The floors often look stained and unclean, and there are almost never toilet seat covers available in the women’s restroom. It feels like basic upkeep is being missed regularly. The cold plunge has also been an issue!!! I’ve gone to use it before and noticed a visible film, which made it completely unusable. That shouldn’t happen in a facility marketed as high-end. On top of that, the staff isn’t particularly welcoming or attentive, which adds to the overall disconnect between the brand and the actual experience. To be fair, not all of this falls solely on the gym.. many members don’t wipe down equipment after using it. But that’s exactly why there needs to be stronger oversight and more consistent cleaning protocols in place. During the summer, the rooftop pool gets extremely crowded. The pool itself is nice, but it’s clear they need more staffing during peak months. Service becomes very slow, which takes away from what could otherwise be a great amenity. As someone who works in facilities and understands operations, this feels like a management issue. There needs to be more attention to daily maintenance, cleaning standards, and overall quality control. Right now, it simply does not reflect the luxury experience being advertised. I’m willing to give it a little more time to improve, but based on my experience so far, I would rate it a 2.5 out of 5.

So not worth the extra $ just for classes. Same classes at the same times every week and close to nothing on the weekends. Sorry I don't live in Reston! Also they have the cheapest hair ties (not stocked well) as well as toilets that don't auto flush so you can't even use your feet, have to hold the button with your hands. Disgusting - many toilets are left unflushed. The complimentary shampoo and conditioner are horrible too. Should add option for gym only membership. Management doesn't care about existing member satisfaction, just bringing in new people for more money. Mat pilates isn't challenging at all but I guess it's great for people who are out of shape!
