  This review is about my experience with scheduling and communication with a staff member, not the medical care provided by the doctors. I called this morning because I’m still having problems with my foot and wanted to speak with a doctor about the unusual sensation I’ve been experiencing, including whether my current shoes and temporary insoles are working for me while I wait for my custom orthotics. This has been significantly affecting my ability to manage everyday activities. Dr. Hafner was unavailable, so I asked the person who took my call whether I could see another doctor. She told me she would have to check whether that was possible and get back to me. While I was waiting, I called Foot & Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic to see if I could get an appointment there in case I couldn’t be seen at Reston Family Foot and Ankle Center. I later learned the two offices are part of the same company. This office was able to schedule me for the next morning. When she called me back later, I let her know I had already arranged an appointment. She responded in a way that made me feel criticized for not waiting, and I found her tone unnecessarily rude. I told her I didn’t appreciate the attitude, she denied it, and the call ended. This isn’t the first time I felt uneasy speaking with this staff member. Today’s interaction left me uncomfortable about returning to the practice to pick up my orthotics. I was simply trying to get guidance about an ongoing foot concern. I hope the practice takes this feedback seriously and ensures patients are treated with courtesy and respect.

  My visit with Dr Gordon was pleasant, thorough, and informative. I appreciated Dr Gordon’s explanation of my toe issues and answering all my questions. He was very gentle while removing the calluses from my toes. Dr Gordon is an excellent physician!!

  Really enjoyed my visit with Dr. Hafner for plantar fasciitis! Helped my foot feel better within days. Very professional, clean practice and would recommend!

  Dr. Gordon is very professional, knowledgeable and personable. He has provided excellent care for my foot condition and always tells me what to do and what not to do. He tells you what to look for that might indicate further treatment is required.

  Dr Shaun Hafner really helped by evaluating my ex rays prior to recommending a prescribed treatment. The choices were made very quickly & clear with his years of experience to give me a more conservative approach. Grateful to know that surgery was not the first or last option. My specific case was such that I had many other options. That’s such a relief & grateful that my alternative care was first & foremost my own choice. Many thanks for your expertise & support during this challenging situation.
