Chesterfield / Richmond / Midlothian Chiropractor Treats Back Pain with Spinal Decompression, Massage Therapy and Corrective Chiropractic Care through Chiropractic Bio Physics. Why Choose Chiropractic at Advanced Care with Dr. Tyson? Dr. Tyson will make actual changes in the curves of your spine, "Get Your Curves Back!" so that you can be more productive as you work and play your way through life. Throughout our lives, bad posture, bad habits, and just plain neglecting the health of our spine changes the three natural curves we were born with. Over time, pain sets in and eventually disease sets in; making it so the body cannot communicate through the nervous system to different parts of our body as it was designed to. The nervous system controls over a hundred billion cells. It is the only system in our body totally incased in solid bone; the brain and the spinal cord. The reason? The nervous system is the most important system of the body. Without the nervous system, even basic functions are non-existent. Pain is the last symptom to show and the first to go. While other chiropractors are managing pain, Dr. Tyson is making a real difference in the patient's overall health through rehabilitation to the spine. Pain management means the patient must come back time and time again throughout their lives to continue to manage the pain that interferes with living their life. "When we help people by giving them the most up-to-date, effective means of chiropractic care through Chiropractic Biophysics; we are changing lives for the betterment of their well-being and making a positive difference in the way people live, work, and play for today and their future." says Dr. Shawn Tyson of Advanced Care Chiropractic and Wellness Center. Midlothian Chiropractor Finds the True Cause of Your Pain “Our goal is not simply to make you feel better,” says Midlothian chiropractor, Dr. Shawn Tyson. “It’s to provide you with the most up to date care available and actually make a long term change for the betterment of your health and wellbeing. The only way to achieve complete healing, see relief, and move toward true wellness is to treat the root cause of your problems and pain – not just your symptoms." "We have helped hundreds of people just like you everyday to help eliminate their pain and regain their youth and vitality!" "Chiropractic is not just about pain relief; it’s also about wellness care. Many new patients visit us because they’ve learned that chiropractic care is an important part of staying healthy – they recognize the value in keeping their spines healthy so they can be well overall." Interferential Treatment (IFT)

Interferential Therapy (IFT) is one of various types of physical therapy. It uses a mid-frequency electrical signal to treat muscular spasms and strains. The current produces a massaging effect over the affected area at periodic intervals, and this stimulates the secretion of endorphins, the body’s natural pain relievers, thus relaxing strained muscles and promoting soft-tissue healing

Massage Therapy

Massage TherapyMassage therapy is the practice of using touch as a healing method derived from customs and techniques rooted in ancient history. Therapeutic Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the practice of using touch as a healing method derived from customs and techniques rooted in ancient history. Civilizations in the East and West found that massage could heal injuries, relieve pain, and prevent and cure illnesses. What’s more, it helps reduce stress and produce deep relaxation. Massage therapy involves acting on and manipulating the body with pressure – structured, unstructured, stationary, or moving – tension, motion, or vibration, done manually or with mechanical aids. Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints, or other connective tissue, as well as lymphatic vessels, or organs of the gastrointestinal system. Massage Therapy can be applied with the hands, fingers, elbows, knees, forearm, and feet. Is Massage Therapy For Me? “I tell all patients that it’s a good idea to have a massage,” says Dr. Tyson. “They’re great, and I get them!” Massage therapy at Advanced Care Chiropractic and Wellness Center is not simply relaxation massage, however. It’s designed to: •break down any old spinal scarring and adhesions •increase blood flow to the muscles •relieve pain in target areas •decrease spasms or trigger points •specifically treat your condition Therapeutic deep tissue massage therapy works hand in hand with chiropractic, in order to make a deliberate change in your problem. Therapists will go as deep as the patient will allow, but they are always careful to ensure you are comfortable with the amount of pressure. Give us call today to schedule an appointment and discuss if massage therapy is right for you.

Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression addresses the issue by decompressing the spinal herniation or spinal bulge. This relieves pinching of the nerves, and causes a negative pressure within the disk in order to pull the bulge off of the spinal cord or spinal nerve. Spinal decompression begins with Interferential Traction, just to get the spine and muscles relaxed, to increase blood flow to the area, and to decreases spasms during decompression. Decompression is not painful, nor is it invasive in any way.

Spianl Decompression

Spinal Decompression Therapy Spinal DecompressionSpinal Decompression Therapy is a cost-effective, non-surgical and non-invasive treatment for back and neck pain. It has gained wide popularity in recent years because it is effective and provides back and neck pain sufferers a solution that does not involve the risks, recovery or expense of back surgery. Is Spinal Decompression For Me? Candidates for spinal decompression have severe disk herniation or bulging, to the extent that we can’t treat them at all until the herniation or bulging is addressed. Dr. Tyson uses decompression to stabilize his patients so that he can then move on to the rehabilitative stage. People with severe neck or low back disk herniations or bulges are generally in severe pain, especially if they’ve suffered from this condition for a long time. They often present with sciatica, shooting pains into the arms, or numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. How Does it Work? Spinal decompression addresses the issue by decompressing the spinal herniation or spinal bulge. This relieves pinching of the nerves, and causes a negative pressure within the disk in order to pull the bulge off of the spinal cord or spinal nerve. Spinal decompression begins with Interferential Traction, just to get the spine and muscles relaxed, to increase blood flow to the area, and to decreases spasms during decompression. Decompression is not painful, nor is it invasive in any way. The therapy is computerized, and is designed to slowly ramp up to the place where we need it to pull the bulge off the disk. It’s a relaxing therapy – we keep the lights low in the room, play soft music, and patients often fall asleep because they’re so relaxed. Will It Work? Patients tend to get immediate relief from each 15-18 minute session. The amount of time that the relief lasts and how many sessions are necessary in order to have sustained relief depend upon the severity of the patient’s condition. Many spinal decompression candidates are patients who have issues bad enough that they are going to be surgery candidates eventually if they don’t do something. If this is the case for you, you can expect to need more than one treatment session to affect lasting results. Once decompression has been effective for you, Dr. Tyson will recommend beginning a normal treatment plan including spinal remodeling. Your injured disk will now have increased pressure on it and will be bearing an increased spinal load, which is what lead to your problem initially. The disk problem is a secondary component of the spinal issue, and once it’s addressed the spinal issue needs to be addressed immediately or else you’ll be in severe danger of relapse. Call our Midlothian office with your questions and to request more information on spinal decompression.

Hidden gem with dry needling, adjustment, TENS, Massage and counseling on best ways to maintain between and after appts. Hesitating to review because I'm thinking right now I can get appointments but if too many people find out about this place then it's going to be harder to get appointments. This is a great place and I have to give them their credit despite my first thought.

I’ve been to this practice three times so far and I couldn’t be happier! The customer service is warm and friendly, the facilities are clean and the massage therapist is extremely knowledgeable in bio mechanics and truly cares about his clients. I’m a veteran and the VA sent me here. Normally veteran related services do not get five star reviews, but this situation, everybody wins!

This was my first visit, but I must say the staff were professional, friendly and prompt. Chris Lewit (LMT) who did my massage therapy was professional and did an excellent job with my slight torn rotator cuff and low back problems. I felt better and not soar leaving. I would recommend this place highly.
