Vaccinations
Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.
This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.
This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.
There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.
These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.
This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.
These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.
Physical & Wellness Screenings
Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.
When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.
Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Staff was pretty rude. Couldn't be bothered to check my order, and were very dismissive.
Wouldn't be going here if I had a choice.
Edited- added two stars- if you go later in the day the employees are completely different! Susan and Haylee were great!

Susan is absolutely terrible. She is rude, has no customer service on her best days and should be in a different field...perhaps a call center position where she isn't client facing. After over 18 years of high level customer service, if I was her boss she would've been relieved of duty years ago.
I switched from the Boonsboro Kroger Pharmacy in 2018 so just about 5 years using the Wards Road Pharmacy. This lady is cancerous, no professionalism....she openly complains about customers and to their face, she complains about the volume of prescriptions she has to fill, she complains about being short staff....like get the heck out of there Susan...you hate the position so much, please leave!!! Bottom line she is a problem, but is enabled by Blaine....he is another rude one.
-I spent 10 years going to Boonsboro and had such an amazing relationship with the whole team there, gave Christmas and Birthday presents to all my favorite folks there....the whole atmosphere in this store Wards Road Kroger is just sad. They need leadership very bad.
Susan, is quite the character, almost "scrooge-like" with a mix of spiteful narcissism! I wonder if this thought ever crossed her mind.....the customers coming to the place you call work, really aren't excited to be there either. It is not like we are stopping by a store for dog food, ice-cream or something else that provides pleasure. We are coming to the pharmacy to help with a medical problem.....quick thought maybe these folks don't have many daily interactions, so your rudeness goes a LONG way in how you make them feel!

Never an issue with Kroger pharmacy. Meds ready when stated. I even had the pharmacist call me twice back to back. He called and I wasn't able to answer. He waited a few minutes and called back. He needed to clarify something. He didn't have to go that extra mile. Med's always in stock, unlike Walmart on Old Forest Rd. They were always out of stock and wouldn't even call to tell you that is why the Rx hasn't been filled. Kroger pharmacy price's are MUCH LOWER than Walmart, Walgreen's, and CVS. I gave Walmart a gazillion chances to step it up and finally switched to Kroger, after comparing prices of other parmacies.

Teresa was extremely rude to me. Was dishonest and took 5 + minutes just to make eye contact with me standing alone at the window. Not the first time I've had a bad experience here. It will be the last though.
