  I left my appointment today feeling extremely uncomfortable and disappointed with the way I was spoken TO FROM DR. KIM.. When I arrived, I was asked by DR. KIM if I needed contacts. I explained that I did not and that I must have accidentally selected a contact lens exam when making the appointment. Instead of simply clarifying the mistake, I was told that I “should have” selected the correct option when scheduling and was questioned about who made the appointment. I even asked if I needed to reschedule because it felt like my mistake was becoming such an issue. I was then asked if I wanted an additional test to check the back of my eyes. I declined because I only wanted my regular eye exam. I was told that I hadn't done the test last year and that next time I would “have to” get it. When I asked why I had to have it, I never really received a clear explanation. Then she asked to see my glasses, commented that they were scratched, and asked me why they were scratched. At that point, the entire interaction just felt uncomfortable and unnecessarily judgmental. I understand that staff need to explain services, appointment types, and recommended testing. That isn't my complaint. My complaint is the tone and the way I was made to feel throughout the appointment. I am a paying patient, and I expect to be spoken to respectfully and to have recommended services explained to me without feeling pressured or talked down to. Unfortunately, I left what should have been a simple eye exam feeling very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Customer service and bedside manner matter just as much as the service being provided.

  The staff at this optical center were very customer friendly. Nicole patiently helped me try on several different pairs of sunglasses, resulting in an order for a pair of prescription sunglasses. On top of that, she preemptively tried a coupon code for my order, giving me another $20 off my order. My pair of sunglasses came lenses that were inserted at different depths by the lab. Charquan helped me to send back the glasses to the lab. He was understanding about the situation and gave me confidence things would be fixed. About three weeks later (and another return caught by Nicole before contacting me to pick up), I picked up a pair of perfect sunglasses. I commend Charquan and Nicole for their focus on customer satisfaction.

  I had an excellent experience with CHARQUAN at Target Optical. My mom needed some help with her glasses, even though they were not originally purchased or made at Target Optical. CHARQUAN was incredibly kind and went out of his way to help her anyway. He fixed her glasses without trying to charge us or expecting anything in return. He simply wanted to help and even let us know that we could come back to him anytime if we ever had questions or needed assistance with her glasses. That kind of genuine kindness and customer service is becoming harder to find. CHARQUAN made us feel welcome and cared for, regardless of where the glasses came from. We really appreciate his help and will definitely think of Target Optical in the future because of the wonderful impression he made. Thank you, CHARQUAN!
