- TWThomas WilkersonSep 5, 20241.0Horrible company to deal with Poor commission driven salesman. No calls back from the main office after several messages. No response to emails. Emails that were responded to were not fully read and questions were not answered after multiple attempts. Improper measurements and information. Switching equipment without letting the patient know. Pushing a piece of equipment from a company they own that has known problems and many complaints from users and is Proven to be dangerous. It must pay a high commission rate. 8 months 3 salesman (2 left the company. The 3rd stop responding) and still no order for a new wheelchair. They just bought another company so I'm expecting service to be even worse in the future. Good luck doing business with this group

Round-trip in a bus full of patients during Covid so I can pass for one of their chairs.I highly recommend someone else. When you haven't gone out for months due to Covid. I'm not going to be bullied in order to qualify. Not a good company to help the elderly.

Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
