- KNKristina NunezJul 1, 20261.0I had a very disappointing experience with this practice and would not recommend it based on how my billing concerns were handled. After my appointment, I discovered that the provider was out of network, something that was not clearly communicated to me beforehand. To make matters worse, my credit card on file was charged without my authorization for the amount in question. I reached out by email twice in an effort to resolve the issue professionally and received no response. What was especially disappointing is that Dr. Lara was personally aware of the situation and copied on the emails, yet my concerns still went unanswered. This was not simply an office communication issue, the provider herself was aware of my concerns and chose not to address them. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I simply wanted someone to explain the charges and work toward a fair resolution. Instead, I was completely ignored. Mistakes can happen, but how a practice responds says a great deal. The lack of transparency, communication, and accountability left me feeling that patient concerns were not valued. Patients deserve to be informed about potential out-of-network costs before treatment, to have charges handled appropriately, and to receive a response when they raise legitimate billing concerns. Unfortunately, this experience has left me with little confidence in both the practice and Dr. Lara, and I cannot recommend them.

The first visit is usually simple yet super important. We open our “home” to your family and make it your child’s dental home. The doctor will check your child’s teeth, position, and health, and will look for any potential problems with the gums and jaw. We will do a cleaning (manual or motorized toothbrushing) if necessary. How do I clean my baby's teeth?
We recommend you clean the gums after feedings with a damp, soft washcloth before teeth erupt. As soon as the first tooth comes in, you can use a soft bristles toothbrush with the smallest head.

Baby teeth will fall out. Why do they matter?
Baby teeth play an important role in the development of children (speaking, smiling, and chewing properly). They also hold space in the jaw for permanent teeth. If a child loses a tooth too early (due to trauma of cavities), nearby teeth may shift to the empty space and cause a change in the normal eruption pattern of permanent teeth. Use only a tiny amount of fluoridated toothpaste (the size of a grain of rice) for each cleaning. Have your child spit out the excess toothpaste. Help your child brush until they develop the manual dexterity to do it themselves.

The short answer is a healthy diet, brushing and flossing, and seeing the pediatric dentist regularly. Avoid sugary/ starchy foods and drinks, limit snacking, and maintain a healthy diet. Fluoride toothpaste helps strengthen weak spots in teeth. Brushing helps remove and flush away food remnants that get stuck in the teeth. Floss can reach spots between the teeth that brushing can’t.
