Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

This store has blocked the sidewalk by the right hand entrance and a man just almost hit me as I had to step off the curb to accommodate and then he proceeded to follow me into the store and yell to ask me if I had a problem. I am a small woman and this made me feel horribly awfully unsafe and I will never ever shop at this location again even though it’s the closest one to my home.

If I could give it ZERO "0" stars I would. I was very disrespected by a Kroger Pharmacist that was supposed to help me get my medication that was refilled. She got very rude with me, had an attitude that escalated and turned her back on me and left me without my medication. I do not feel comfortable even getting my medication from this pharmacy anymore. I will be switching to another pharmacy before I even receive my medication.

The store is good for your grocery needs. Now let's talk about the pharmacy. I was a pharmacy customer from 2011 till about August of this year.I have been a grocery shopper at Kroger:s Salem store since I was a young boy, going there with my mom and grandma.Krogers has always been a very good grocery store. But that's all it is.In my own opinion, it's not a pharmacy. As most of the other reviews say, it is very slow, they call you with a automated message telling you your prescription is ready for pickup, just as soon as me or wife picks It up. I don't need a message waiting for me when I get home, after I have done got my meds. My wife still shops there, and gets her meds. there. I left there after the pharmacy manger left. I found out that the male technician did not want to fill four of my scripts, from one of my doctors. I would have to take my four scripts to another pharmacy. So I figured I should move all of them. Also, keep in mind I used to drive for them, and they tell me that they can refuse service from anyone. I hope you all out there in"web land"have better service with them than I did.

I'm attempting to call a presc in and have called 5 times w/o any answer. Also in past the phone is not answered at times forcing me to continue calling back. thank you #2. finally someone answered and when I asked if there was a problem w/ the phone system she answered no "we/ve just been super swamped and they're short staffed" and added "sorry about that". This is not good customer service-
