I didn't have high expectations since this was a free exam scheduled through a fb popup ad, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I had a great experience with Brie at Next Level Hearing. I did not feel rushed or pressured at any time. She gave me printed results right away, explained them very thoroughly, went over all my options, and sent me home with a set of hearing aids to try for a week. Together we downloaded the app, connected to Bluetooth, and tinkered with the adjustments. It was amazing to hear what I have been missing all these years! Quite a difference from my ENT/audiologist who I'm still waiting to get results from 3 weeks later, and who basically said 'we have hearing aids here if you want to make an appointment on your way out'. The hearing aids I tested are very comfortable (much better than the earbuds I've been using for audiobooks), unobtrusive (no problem with my glasses), inconspicuous (my friends couldn't tell I was wearing them even after I pointed them out), and no awful distortion or amplification of background noises. I wore them to a large group dinner in a friend's home, to a group dinner in a noisy restaurant, to game events in both a large room and a small room, to a movie screening, and to a Mardi Gras event with live zydeco music, as well as every day around our house which is typically very quiet. The sound quality was superb in all situations. The model I tested was the Phonak Audéo R Infinio 90, I believe. I would recommend Next Level. They aren't the cheapest out there, but the service is unbeatable.

The hearing aid ability, how to use them and the ways to handle deafness, was thoroughly explained by Connie!
I have had a very difficult time fitting one of my ears. Connie was knowledgeable when she took over the office and has almost gotten things working as they should. professional and compassionate.

Took my almost 86 year old mother to Albemarle Audiology to investigate getting hearing aids for her. The staff members there are so patient, kind, and knowledgeable. My mother was comfortable asking questions and discussing her concerns. I would recommend Albemarle Audiology highly.

Marian Fredner was the audiologist who checked my hearing when I entered the hospital with a severe viral ear infection in June, 2004. The infection destroyed my right inner ear. So when I needed to hear better, I turned to her. She has been thoughtful and professional, caring for me every step of the way, and always trying to fit me with the device that best suits my need. I started out with a single Phonak hearing aid in the only ear that could hear. Then Phonak came out with a Cros--a device that fits in my totally deaf ear and transmits the sound via radio waves (or Bluetooth or something) to the hearing aid in my good ear. Now I can hear what people are saying who sit on my deaf side. Recently I lost my Cros (again). It was covered by insurance, so I ordered a new one (with a $400 co-pay). It came in, she fitted me, and sent me on my way. I was so glad I could hear again. But the next day I noticed the good-ear device was not signaling it was or was not receiving the signal from the Cros. I called her up, and she found a time for me to see her the next day. In about 15 minutes she had me hearing beautifully and I went my way home singing--and no service fee. Marian Fredner knows her trade, and she cares for her clients. I highly recommend Albemarle Audiology.
