  Very disappointed with our experience at Eye & Vision Care South Riding. I took my mother there because she was having an eye problem. I understand that this office is out of network for us, so I knew we would have higher out-of-pocket costs. My concern is mainly with the overall amount we ended up paying and how clearly the costs and glasses options were explained. According to our receipts, the first visit on September 16 cost $477.25, including the medical exam/testing and $185 for glasses. We originally went there for an eye problem, and my mother already had glasses, so there was confusion on our end about what type of glasses we were agreeing to. At the follow-up on September 30, she was charged another $249, including $144 for the follow-up exam, $80 for OCT-retina imaging, and $25 for a copy of her medical records. We then paid another $200 for distance lenses/glasses. In total, we have paid $926.25 across these visits. I understand that out-of-network medical care can be expensive, and I am not questioning that services were provided. However, nearly $1,000 out of pocket for this experience was far more than we expected. I especially wish the pricing, purpose of each service, follow-up costs, and the different glasses options had been explained more clearly before we agreed to them. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend asking for a detailed estimate and making sure you understand exactly what each charge and glasses prescription is for before proceeding.

  I had a wonderful experience at Eye Vision, thanks to Sylvia! She went above and beyond to help me — patient, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I left completely satisfied. Customer service like this is rare these days. Highly recommend Eye Vision, and be sure to ask for Sylvia!
