The equipment is stacked too closely, so you have to awkwardly squeeze between machines or walk around. The lights inside are migraine-inducingly bright. The staff are cult-level creepy and act like they don't know what they're doing. Their billing terms are super scammy, buyer beware. Look up horror stories on Reddit before you sign up.

The Onelife bait and switch. As a member of Onelife fitness for the past 5 years I was surprised to learn that I do not have access to the Ashburn club with my "Multi Club" membership. As someone who isn’t a regular fitness enthusiast, I wanted to share my first impressions after joining OneLife’s new Ashburn location. So far, I’m really impressed.
I’m a full-time working mom and wife, so finding time—and motivation—to work out isn’t always easy. OneLife has made the experience feel much less intimidating than I expected.
The facility is pristine. It’s clean, well-organized, and the layout makes sense. There’s plenty of space, and I never feel like I’m in anyone’s way. One thing I’ve appreciated is the variety of people working out here—it’s a great mix of ages and fitness levels, which creates a welcoming, judgment-free atmosphere.
The staff has also been wonderful. Every time I walk in, I’m greeted with a smile and a friendly hello, and they genuinely wish me a good workout. Those little interactions make a difference.
The biggest reason I’ve enjoyed coming, though, is my personal trainer, Kelsey. She listens to my goals, adjusts workouts based on how my body is feeling, and focuses just as much on teaching as she does on training. I’m learning proper form, how to safely use the equipment, and why we’re doing each exercise. Every session builds my confidence, and I’m becoming much more comfortable exploring different areas.
I also really enjoy the green turf centered in the middle of the space . It adds energy and creates opportunities for a different style of workout than traditional machines or free weights. It’s a fun feature that makes the environment feel more dynamic.
So far, OneLife Ashburn has exceeded my expectations. For someone who never considered themselves a “gym person,” it’s been a welcoming place to learn and build confidence while beginning to establish healthier habits. I’m looking forward to seeing how my experience evolves over the coming months and will update this review as I spend more time here.

Beware: it’s an annual contract!
The gym is perfectly fine. I got a few good workouts in here, and largely appreciated the equipment and the space overall. The pool wasn’t open yet while I was using the gym, which was a bummer, but they just opened so I get it.
Two stars is my review, and really it’s like a 3.5-star gym, were it not for the outdated, outmoded contract that is, not just by default, but exclusively annual. The unfortunate part is that the site and checkout page does not make that very clear. (It’s almost as if it were intentional…)
PLEASE keep that in mind when signing up — you’ll have to pay early cancellation fees if you don’t last the full first year (which, cmon, that is quite a long time for anything these days).
I cancelled my membership to the gym having no idea I would be charged, and they were having none of my argument. I would imagine there are plenty of people dealing with this; they described their decision to me as “equitable”…but were that the case, it would be made wildly clear what each and every member is signing up for. (Go check it out for yourself…)
I have some minor gripes that led me to wanting to cancel in the first place, but ultimately just wanted something better from my gym (I.e. more expensive).
In sum: I recommend the gym for people who don’t want to spend a ton on a gym, have a decent amount of equipment, and live close to the gym (parking is actually a little obnoxious, as is getting into the shopping center during peak hours).
BUT…know that you are not signing up for a month-to-month contract. So better be sure you like it before you sign up 😊.

I recently visited this location and, compared to the Sterling and Brambleton facilities, it feels noticeably smaller. The group fitness room is quite limited in size, and parking can be challenging since the gym is located in a very busy shopping plaza.
While those factors alone would not necessarily be a concern, I was disappointed to learn that members are required to pay an additional fee to access this location. Given the smaller facility and fewer amenities, it is difficult to understand the added value when the other locations are included in the regular membership.
What was most frustrating, however, was the lack of clear communication regarding the membership changes and group fitness offerings. The front desk staff only had a printed sheet listing the different location groups and were unable to provide detailed information about why why this location is not included with the other gyms in the membership group. There also seemed to be little effort to obtain additional information or help address member concerns.
I understand that gyms occasionally adjust pricing and membership structures, but clear communication, staff training, and transparency are essential when implementing these changes. I hope management takes member feedback into consideration and provides better explanations and support moving forward.
