I’ve been a member at Onelife Fitness - Crystal Park for quite some time, and I want to offer a different perspective about the pool staff.
The facility is excellent: clean pool, solid equipment, and a great overall atmosphere. I especially want to recognize the lifeguards Yuri and Ana for their professionalism, attentiveness, and commitment to safety.
I think Walt Whitman said it best: “Be curious, not judgmental.”
Not every lifeguard is going to be overly animated or conversational during a shift that requires constant focus and vigilance. Being serious or reserved should not automatically be mistaken for hostility. In a role where attention and awareness matter most, I’d much rather have lifeguards who are focused and professional.
From my experience, Yuri and Ana have always been respectful and dedicated to maintaining a safe environment for everyone using the pool.
At the end of the day, Onelife Fitness - Crystal Park remains one of the best fitness facilities in the area, and the aquatics staff deserves far more appreciation than criticism.

I’ve been a member of this gym for over five years, and I highly recommend it. It’s a welcoming space where you truly feel at home. The staff is exceptionally friendly, especially the two lifeguards, Yuri and Anna. I swim almost every day, and they make each visit feel like a relaxing form of therapy because they are always attentive, supportive, and genuinely care about the members’ well-being.
One of the main reasons I continue coming to this specific location is the positive atmosphere created by everyone who works there. The pool and surrounding areas are consistently spotless and well maintained, which is something you don’t always find at other gyms or pools. Overall, this gym provides not only a great place to exercise, but also an environment where members feel comfortable, valued, and cared for.
Our family has been members for 15+ years. In the past five years, this club has become a almost daily part of our lives. All staff are friendly and welcoming. We really appreciate Vera, Brian and others at the front desk and especially Yuri and Anna down at the pool. It can get busy there at times with the lessons and exercise classes and such, but they are always on top of things and work to make sure it is a positive place for everyone. Highly recommend this location!

Good gym but please please please turn the music (in the weights area) down 🙏🙏🙏 shouldn’t need to deafen myself with noise cancelling headphones already on to not hear it
Two stars, and honestly, both of them belong to the facility itself. The pool is clean, the equipment is solid, and the staff outside of one particular individual are genuinely great. If this review were purely about the gym, it’d be five stars without hesitation.
But then there’s the lifeguard.
I don’t know his name, but you’ll know exactly who I mean the moment you walk past the pool deck and feel the sudden, inexplicable urge to apologize for existing. This man has perfected the art of radiating hostility while technically just standing there. He’s not yelling at anyone. He’s not doing anything overtly aggressive. He simply exists in a state of profound, weaponized misery and somehow makes it everyone else’s problem.
I’ve seen people look happier at the DMV. At jury duty. At their own car’s oil change appointment.
I’m not alone in this observation…other reviewers have noted the same energy, including accounts of flat-out rude responses to basic pleasantries like “good morning.” Apparently “good morning” is a bold ask. Who knew? Worse, the warmth seems selectively distributed depending on who’s walking by, which is its own separate and more serious issue worth flagging to management.
OneLife, the facility is genuinely nice. Hire people who want to be there, or at minimum, people who can fake it.
