Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Been using the pharmacy here for 25 years or more, normally I get quick , nice and easy service. I've had to a few times call all over to different pharmacies because they didn't get there delivery on time so I could find enough pills to fill a prescription. ( a few times because there was a shortage of that medication. When I need a refill I just call and use the automated system with no issues, normally when I called today the automated system answered like always but I thought that I got disconnected or hung up on so I ended the call on my end and the same thing happened but I waited a little longer and the voice came back on picking up from where it was this happened a few times, i.e. " Thank you for calling your.........local smiths pharmacy please............let us know how we can help , when I tried to skip the rest of the broken message nothing happened unless it was talking. Decided to talk to someone in the pharmacy and let them know about the issue and I kinda felt like she really didn't care about it saying she never listens to the message and just hits 0 until it transfers to a live person , we got my refill done and I mentioned that issue again because not everyone will do what she said. She said she'd let someone know but it came off as I don't care if I remember I'll let higher up person knows if she remembers when she sees them. There was no concern in her voice and I got the feeling that it would probably take a few more complaints before she said anything. I was trying to alert them to the issue so others wouldn't have to deal with it. I don't remember her name, she was a tech . I'm writing this review because I got the feeling that nothing was going to be done with it, here's hoping that this will help get the problem resolved so very few people have to deal with it.

Please don't relay on a machine. It takes forever and many times to speak with someone in the pharmacy because the machine keep asking you questions and saying things. It is a machine. Not a human. Please check how you have set up. People don't have time or are too sick to be dealing with it. The pharmacy is pretty good. I have been a customer for many years. The workers are nice.
