Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I recently switched to Smiths pharmacy, over from Walgreens. And the smiths pharmacy is amazing! The staff is so nice, even with some of my complicated requests. And they take more insurances than walgreens which is so nice, because prescriptions are a lot cheaper here. And the staff is amazing!

I’m disappointed with my experience at the Smith’s pharmacy in Springville tonight. I got in line at the drive-thru for the pharmacy at 7:40 PM. There were four cars ahead of me in line. After pulling up, I double checked the hours online, and on both Google and Smith’s website, the advertised closing time of the pharmacy and drive-thru is 8:00 PM. At 7:44 PM, the employee manning the drive-thru switched the sign above the line from “Open”, to “Closed”. I watched this happen in real time, as the line had moved up and I was directly in front of the sign at the moment of the change. I was still last in line, and there were three cars ahead of me. Three minutes later it was my turn, and I see the curtains inside of the window come down as I’m pulling up. I push the buzzer and the woman inside informs me that the drive-thru is closed. I told her that I had been in line since before the sign was switched to “Closed”. She responds bluntly and tells me she knows that I wasn’t because there’s a mirror set up inside that she uses to see the line of cars, and that I hadn’t been there. I told her that I wasn’t trying to argue, but I was, in fact, in line. I was then told I needed to come inside if I wanted to be helped. I elected to go back tomorrow. I’ve worked retail jobs before and I understand the stress and exhaustion of trying to finish helping customers as closing time approaches. I understand that closing procedures still take more time after the official closing time and employees just want to get home. And I understand how overwhelming it can be if you’re helping customers both inside and at the drive-thru at the same time. I don’t fault anyone for being stressed, tired, overwhelmed or overworked. I’m sure the employees had just as long of a day as I did, if not more. The issue I have with my experience tonight is my integrity immediately being called into question over something as trivial as whether or not I’d been waiting in the drive-thru, and the bluntness with which that was thrown back in my face. Every other interaction I’ve had with staff at this pharmacy has been great. I know there are a lot of things people complain about that are outside of the employees’ control. But they’ve always been kind and quick to help. Unfortunately, tonight that was not the case.

Pretty much obnoxious each time I go. Rx says ready then they aren't. Info wrong numerous times. Wanted to use drive through instead of preferred place with no drive through. Drive through closed. Just annoying. On top of that rude to my dr trying to fill expensive med. Went somewhere else.

I have two forms of insurance. Often times they don't bill both so I get charged and have to re- inform them of the insurances to bill. After going through multiple techs, one tech was helpful. She figured the billing out and promised to add notes so other techs could use that info. Unfortunately, I got billed AGAIN for a prescription and had to tell the tech about the notes the other tech added My other issue is they seem to be out of stock on a lot of meds
