  I was very disappointed with my experience at Target Optical in Midvale. I had scheduled my appointment online with Kristen Green, but when I arrived, I was informed that I would instead be seeing Robert Meek. My appointment did not start on time, and I was told by the front desk employee that the doctor was at lunch. When the doctor finally saw me, the exam felt extremely rushed. Aside from the air-puff pressure test, none of the additional tests that I have routinely received at other eye clinics were performed. I specifically mentioned that I had significant corneal damage several years ago due to severe dry eyes and wanted to make sure my eyes had healed properly before returning to contact lens wear. Despite my concerns, the doctor did not perform a dilated eye exam and provided contact lens samples before thoroughly evaluating the health of my eyes. The actual exam took less than a few minutes, which left me questioning how comprehensive the evaluation really was. While I did receive an updated prescription, I left with very little confidence that the overall health of my eyes was properly assessed. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this location. The exam felt incomplete, my concerns about my eye health were not adequately addressed, and I left feeling uncertain about whether a thorough evaluation had been performed. Eye health is too important for patients to leave with that level of doubt.

  I sat on my glasses at work and thought I was going to have to replace them. I brought them in and they were able to repair them, in less than an hour, at no charge. Great customer service!!

  Fast, seamless, very attentive, and did a great job of making sure we had everything we needed before the appointment. Easiest exams and glasses we have ever had.

  I just needed some nose pieces for my glasses and was pleased that they fixed it immediately and for free! I was there long enough to see a few comings and goings and the staff were friendly and seemed caring. I noticed they had a nice selection of glasses too. When I'm in the market for those I will check out Target at optical.

  My wife has been a patient here for nearly 20 years, and I’ve been coming for around 5. I called simply to get my pupillary distance measurement from my file. The first call resulted in being placed on hold for over 15 minutes right before closing, so I called back. The employee immediately seemed irritated and first told me they only provide PD measurements with prescriptions. When I explained that I’ve had multiple prescriptions there, she changed the explanation and said they “just don’t give that out.” Eventually, after arguing about it, she admitted she could see two measurements in my file and gave me the most recent one, while repeatedly warning me they “normally don’t give those out because of liability.” She rushed through the numbers so quickly I couldn’t understand them, then became argumentative again when I politely asked her to repeat them. The entire interaction felt unnecessarily hostile and dismissive for such a simple request from a long-time patient. To end the call, she hung up before I could even finish thanking her. Very disappointing customer service experience from a place we’ve trusted for years.
