What is body sculpting? Body sculpting is a non-surgical way to get rid of unwanted fat that you can’t lose with diet or exercise. Body sculpting treatments at Hillside Medical Clinic involve laser therapy to reshape and contour areas where fat collects. The goal of body sculpting is to improve your appearance and boost your confidence. The best places to use body sculpting are the: Abdomen Love handles Buttocks Back Inner and outer thighs If you have other areas of concern, talk to the team at Hillside Medical Clinic about your needs. What is WarmSculpting with SculpSure? Hillside Medical Clinic offers body sculpting treatments with the WarmSculpting with SculpSure laser. The heat from the SculpSure laser wand penetrates through your skin without damaging it to the layers of fat beneath the surface. The fat reacts to the heat by breaking down into tiny pieces. Over the next few weeks and months, your body processes the disintegrated fat and flushes it out of your body. You’re left with a leaner, smoother physique. It’s important to note that body sculpting is not a weight loss treatment. It’s most effective if you’re at or near your ideal weight, but want to spot treat resistant fat. What can I expect from WarmSculpting with SculpSure treatment? Once you’re completely comfortable in your private treatment room, your provider maneuvers the laser’s flat applicators over and around your designated treatment areas. WarmSculpting with SculpSure technology includes innovative cooling mechanisms, so you’re unaffected by the heat. As you recline, the laser destroys your stubborn fat. When will I see results from body contouring treatments? It takes several weeks for your body to naturally flush the fat cells. In a month or two, you’ll be pleased to discover that your new shape is more defined and contoured. The best part of body contouring with WarmSculpting with SculpSure is that your results are permanent as long as you maintain a healthy weight. Once sculpting melts the fat cells, they’ll never return. Most men and women see results after only one session, but it typically takes about three treatments to get optimal results. Your provider talks with you about your goals and needs and outlines a detailed treatment plan, so you’ll know exactly what to expect. If you’re ready to get rid of your stubborn fat once and for all, call Hillside Medical Clinic to schedule an appointment for body sculpting or use the online scheduler to book now. It’s frustrating when you eat right and exercise but still have stubborn pockets of fat. At Hillside Medical Clinic in Salem, Utah, you can tone and contour your trouble areas with body sculpting. The team offers WarmSculpting with SculpSureⓇ treatments to get rid of excess and persistent fat. Call the office to schedule an appointment or use the online booking option.

What is Xeomin? Xeomin is a medical form of botulinum toxin that’s FDA-approved for cosmetic and therapeutic uses. The team at Hillside Medical Clinic uses Xeomin to relax your facial muscles and minimize: Forehead wrinkles Frown lines between the eyes Crow’s feet at the sides of eyes How does Xeomin work? The active ingredients in Xeomin interrupt the nerve messaging pathways from your brain and temporarily paralyze your facial muscles so they can’t contract. When your muscle is relaxed, the skin smoothes out and makes you look younger. What is Xeomin®? Xeomin is a neurotoxin like Botox. It doesn’t contain any of the additives that are in Botox, so it’s the most concentrated and pure form of the botulinum toxin. Because Xeomin is only a single ingredient, your body has a better chance of accepting it and not building antibodies to it. It’s used for frown lines between your brows. You can combine Xeomin or Botox with dermal fillers for a liquid facelift. Dermal fillers perfectly complement Xeomin and Botox because they fill tissue under your skin to reduce common signs of aging like wrinkles, sagging skin, and creases. Does it hurt to get Botox or Xeomin injections? To help you feel completely comfortable during your Botox, Xeomin, or dermal filler injection treatment, Hillside Medical Clinic offers Nitronox, a pain relief system that combines equal amounts of nitrous oxide and oxygen. Much like happy gas at the dentist, the team provides Nitronox on an as-needed basis. How long does it take to see results? Whether you have Botox, Xeomin, or dermal filler injections, you’ll see results within 3-4 days. Of course, everyone responds differently, and it depends on where and how extensive your wrinkles are, but you’ll have noticeable results in less than a week. At your consultation before the treatment, your provider explains the procedure and outlines what you can expect. How long will the results last? You’ll love that Botox, Xeomin, and fillers give you quick results with minimal side effects. With Botox and Xeomin, you’ll see the effects for about 3-6 months, while fillers last up to a year. When the results begin to wear off, it’s safe to treat the area again. If you’re ready to turn back the hands of time, schedule a Botox, Xeomin, or dermal filler session at Hillside Medical Clinic. Call the office today or use the online scheduler to book at your convenience.

What is vaginal revitalization? Vaginal revitalization, sometimes called vaginal wellness treatments, is a term given to a variety of procedures and treatments that restore form and function to your vagina. Changes to your vagina can occur for any of the following reasons: Aging Chemotherapy Childbirth Menopause Hormonal imbalance As a result of these conditions, your vagina can lose muscle tone, lubrication, sensitivity, and strength. Weak muscles and laxity make it more difficult for you to enjoy sex or keep your urine from leaking. Hillside Medical Clinic offers an effective solution with TempSure Vitalia. What is TempSure Vitalia? TempSure Vitalia is an FDA-approved system that Hillside Medical Clinic uses to help you tighten, tone, and restore vaginal function, sensitivity, and laxity. Women choose treatment with TempSure Vitalia because it doesn’t require surgery or hormone replacement. During treatment at Hillside Medical Clinic, your provider eases a probe into the vagina where it gently heats sensitive vaginal tissues to boost circulation. Specifically designed to fit into delicate spaces, TempSure Vitalia tightens the vaginal entry, improves leakage issues, firms skin, and boosts vaginal lubrication. In addition, the treatment enhances nerve sensitivity, so you’re able to feel pleasure from intercourse. What conditions can TempSure Vitalia treat? Vaginal revitalization is effective for: Vaginal dryness Itching, burning Painful intercourse Vaginal laxity Incontinence Recurring urinary tract infections Lack of sensitivity during sex Your provider at Hillside Medical Clinic corrects these problems with radiofrequency treatments using the TempSure Vitalia system. What can I expect from a vaginal revitalization treatment? Your provider eases a probe into the vagina where it gently heats sensitive vaginal and labial tissues to boost circulation. They’ll move the small device in and around the vulva, labia, and vaginal walls. Because the TempSure Vitalia instrument deploys radiofrequency heat energy, you’ll feel a warm sensation for the duration of your 30-minute treatment. Does vaginal revitalization treatment hurt? Not at all. It’s similar to a Pap smear. You may feel pressure and slight pinching, but it’s not painful. Your provider discusses the procedure with you at your consultation so you’ll know what to expect. How much downtime do I need for vaginal revitalization? One of the benefits of treatment with the TempSure Vitalia system is that there’s absolutely no downtime. Because there’s no invasive surgery or hormone shots involved, you can go right back to school, work, or your regular activities. To see if you’re a candidate for vaginal revitalization, call Hillside Medical Clinic or use the easy online scheduler to book now.

What are stretch marks? When your skin stretches rapidly, it puts stress on the collagen and elastin and causes a tear in their fibers. As your body tries to heal, a pinkish, red, brown, or white scar-like formation called a stretch mark forms. Stretch marks can form anywhere on your body, including your buttocks, hips, thighs, abdomen, and back. What causes stretch marks? You get stretch marks when you gain and lose weight quickly. Your skin is rapidly stretching and contracting to accommodate your new size. This typically happens during: A growth spurt Pregnancy Many bodybuilders get stretch marks when they bulk up quickly or have a period of quick rapid muscle growth. How can I get rid of stretch marks? Creams and serums that are widely available in drugstores and on grocery aisles offer minimal improvement. At Hillside Medical Clinic, you have access to state-of-the-art fractional laser therapy with the Icon™ laser aesthetic system. The team at Hillside Medical Clinic uses the Icon laser to deploy laser light deep into your tissues to reduce discoloration, and smooth uneven tone and texture. Depending on how pervasive your stretch marks are, they customize the wavelength and handpieces accordingly. Since your collagen production decreases as you get older, it’s helpful to get Icon therapy for stretch marks because it activates the production of new collagen, which is a building block for healthy skin. The Icon is also a popular treatment option if you want to remove unwanted hair, minimize spider veins, or decrease scars and wrinkles. What can I expect from stretch marks treatment? Treatment with the Icon laser is noninvasive and does not cause any pain. You can choose to relax with or without Nitronox. Your provider gently guides the laser over and around each stretch mark scar and depending on the extent of your stretch marks, you can expect to be in and out of the office in about 30 minutes. As the new collagen forms, your stretch marks recede and your skin texture improves. This happens gradually over the course of a few weeks or months. Your provider details how many sessions you’ll need and exactly what you can expect. When you’re ready to minimize your stretch marks, call Hillside Medical Clinic to schedule an appointment or use the online booking feature.

What causes wrinkles? As you age, you produce less collagen and elastin, two key players in your skin’s elasticity and strength. As a result, your skin gets weaker and thinner. Oil production also declines as the years pass and your skin dries out and gets brittle. Together, these changes cause wrinkles to form. Other factors that contribute to the formation of lines, wrinkles, and crow’s feet are: Sun exposure Repetitive facial muscle use Smoking Genetics Certain medications Dehydration is also a contributor to wrinkle formation. What is TempSure Envi? TempSure Envi is an FDA-approved radiofrequency system that helps you rebuild collagen and tighten your skin. Hillside Medical Clinic uses innovative technology to deeply heat your skin to trigger new elastin and collagen growth to treat crow’s feet, frown lines, wrinkles, and creases. What is TempSure Icon? The team at Hillside Medical Clinic also uses TempSure Icon, a complete aesthetic system, by the same manufacturer. It’s an intense-pulsed-light (IPL) system for fractional skin resurfacing. The Icon system comes with a variety of handpieces that help your provider treat several issues, such as stretch marks, wrinkles, scars, and uneven skin texture. What can I expect at a wrinkle reduction appointment? To help ease any anxiety you may have about the procedure, you can use Nitronox, a blend of nitrous oxide and oxygen. It helps keep you calm during the noninvasive wrinkle reducing procedure. Depending on what device you choose, your provider glides the device over your treatment areas while you rest. The heat is gentle, and there’s absolutely no pain, so you can completely relax during the session. Each treatment takes about 30 minutes, so you can schedule it on your lunch break or while you’re out running errands. You won’t need to schedule any downtime either. With your glowing, vibrant skin, you can return to work, school, or home immediately. How many wrinkle reducing treatments will I need? The number of treatments you need varies according to your skin type and the size of the treatment area. At your consultation, your provider at Hillside Medical Clinic writes a custom plan for you, so you’ll know exactly what to expect. In general, most people have between four and six treatments over the course of a few months. To regain your youthful glow and banish wrinkles, call Hillside Medical Clinic to schedule an appointment or use the online scheduling feature to book at your convenience.

What causes skin cancer? There are three main types of skin cancer: Basal cell carcinoma Squamous cell carcinoma Melanoma While all three are correlated to sun exposure, they differ in the type of exposure and your skin type. For instance, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma are linked to prolonged exposure to the sun over many years, while melanoma is associated with an intense sunburn. Other causes of skin cancer are genetics, UV exposure from other sources than the sun, such as tanning beds, and certain diseases. What are the signs of skin cancer? Signs and symptoms of skin cancer include: New moles Changes in a mole’s size or shape Sores or lesions that itch, bleed, or won’t go away Enlarged lymph nodes Red, raised, scaly patch of skin Open, oozy sores that won’t heal Wart-like growth If your moles itch, bleed, or have irregular borders, it could be a sign of skin cancer. At Hillside Medical Clinic, your provider removes suspicious blemishes and moles to analyze them in the lab. Why do I need regular skin checks? A regular skin check at Hillside Medical Clinic helps you inspect places on your body that are hard to see on your own. Your provider closely examines every inch of your body from head to toe, including your face, neck, abdomen, back, legs, toes, nail beds, hands, palms, soles of feet, and genitals. When should a mole be removed? The practitioners at Hillside Medical Clinic observe the “ABCDE” guideline when performing your mole checks: Asymmetry – one half does not mirror or match the other half Border – hard-to-define or irregular border Color – should be one color, not a mix Diameter – should be smaller than a pencil eraser Evolving – should not be changing size, shape, or color Your provider analyzes every one of your moles and lesions using the ABCDE method. Talk to them about any moles that concern you or problems with your skin. Problem moles are immediately removed right on the spot. It’s a quick procedure, and the team at Hillside Medical Clinic numbs the area to make you comfortable. Don’t neglect your annual skin check. It’s a critical part of preventive care. Call Hillside Medical Clinic to book an appointment or use the online scheduler.

What should I do after getting laser hair removal? The most important thing to do is protect your skin from the sun. We recommend Avoiding direct sunlight from hitting your treated skin. Not use a tanning bed or any other indoor tanning equipment. It’s normal to experience redness and swelling after treatment. Applying an ice pack can help reduce your discomfort. Is there downtime? No, after your treatment you should be able to return to your everyday activities. When will I see the results? Your hair type, area treated, type of laser used, and color of your skin all affect the results. You can expect about 10% – 25% hair reduction after the first treatment. This is why we recommend 4-6 treatments. After completing all the treatments, most patients do not see any hair on the treated skin for several months or even years. Regrowth should be very minimal. We offer touch up laser treatments if hair begins to reappear. How long will the results of laser hair removal last? Our patients remain hair free for months or even years. If the hair regrows, it will likely be less noticeable. We offer touch up laser treatments if hair begins to reappear. What are the side effects? Many clients don’t experience side effects, but if you do, the most common side effects are minor and last 1 to 3 days. These side effects include: Soreness Swelling Redness More extreme but can still occur include: Blistering Infections Scarring Skin lightening or darkening Some changes to skin color may occur but fades away. If your skin does change, please call us or a medical doctor skilled in laser treatments. Taking the necessary precautions will greatly reduce your risk of side effects. When is it safe to have another laser treatment for hair removal? Most patients can have laser hair removal once every 4 to 6 weeks. During the process, you may see some hair regrowth. Our laser technician will determine how often your treatments should take place.
