Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I went to the Smith’s at dinosaur Crossing store 278 at 7:55 and the pharmacy hours are open until 8PM. The girl behind the counter talking to another employee not working refused to help us and said we had to come back tomorrow for a prescription a doctor called in for a infant with a fever because of an ear infection. The pharmacist heard our conversation and didn’t say a word. We quickly went to Harmons and they said they would never act like that and said they would call the next morning and transfer our prescription to their store upon our request. We have been going to smiths for over 30 years along with several family members but will not in the future. Horrible customer service and they definitely don’t care about their customers or people but luckily there are other businesses that still do.

Extremely disappointed with how I was treated today. I called ahead about my medication, and the employee on the phone told me that while a discount was already applied, there was an additional discount they could add at the window to make it cheaper, explicitly telling me to ask about it. When I got to the window, the cashier was visibly annoyed and completely unhelpful. As a disabled veteran trying to manage my healthcare and prescription costs, dealing with medication is stressful enough. Whether the person on the phone was just trying to get me off the line, or the person at the window didn't want to take the time to do her job right, the bottom line is that I wasn’t taken care of. Veterans and patients deserve better than being given the runaround and treated like a hassle.

I went to the pharmacy at Smith's grocery store to get four bottles of medicine that were over the counter. I noticed the cashier pharmacy tech was doing absolutely nothing and I placed four bottles of medicine on the counter and she told me I could ring them up front. I understand I can go up front and ring up four bottles of medicine but you guys never had a problem with it before when I bought my medicine there and I was trying to get in and out quick because my sick girlfriend was in the car and I was trying to make this as fast as possible. So I asked to talk to the pharmacist and he says the same thing. Well guess what "Smith's employees" you can ring it up too. I had to call other store managers to see if this something I'm overreacting on and would their pharmacist person mind ringing up the order and they said yeah why not. Are you guys too good for that...ringing up some items that are right next to your counter that are medicine? Is that not a Smith's cash register? Are you not a Smith's employee? Am I not a Smith customer? Well guess what you can ring up the items too. Now I understand if somebody brought their shopping cart with 500 grocery items, but we're talking four scans of medicine from the scan gun. It takes literally 30 seconds to scan four items and say $65.27 please and then I insert my debit card and you hand me a receipt. I didn't even need a bag and you tell me go walk across the store instead? Now you put Smith's at risk of losing customers because you can't demonstrate proper customer service because you think you're better than the cashiers up front. You're too busy? everybody's busy! Is that how you guys want to be treated Mr. Pharmacist and young lady who's a pharmacist tech. You want to go into a store and be told no go walk across the store? Yeah I have a cash register right here in front of me but I'm not going to do it. Wow. Wow. It blows my mind that I feel it necessary to write a review over something so petty that could have been taken care of in less than 30 seconds. Good job guys!
