- JRJulie RJul 2, 20261.0Yesterday I had an eye exam here. It went well and the optometrist was kind. Afterwards my prescription was handed to a person on the sales floor. She lead me directly to the cheapest glasses they sell, probably based on my insurance plan. I normally go with RayBans (not in the cheap drawer), and asked her about replacing the lenses in the RayBans I purchased from this same store. It took her an EXCRUCIATINGLY long time to look up my previous purchase and then tell me my portion would be $280. This is for a high-index, single lens. Okay. I mentioned some other RayBan sunglasses I bought with my clear pair that had never fit correctly. At my initial fitting, the technician called them ‘wonky.’ I went back 4 times and LensCrafters could offer nothing after trying to bend the offending frames into their correct position—the final tech suggesting I buy some pads from WalMart to keep the frames from digging into my cheek. I didn’t go through the entire story yesterday, but casually mentioned it to this associate and she said nothing in response. That’s kind of how I’ve felt treated in the interactions I’ve had at this store, like I don’t matter, and there’s no accountability on their part for faulty products. How nice it would have been if that first associate said, yes these glasses should not fit this way and corrected the issue without me having to repeatedly return and resulting with a pair of nice, expensive RayBans I cannot wear.
