Last year, two of my children had their wisdom teeth removed and it was a great experience with the dentist, hygienist and front office. Recently, we came back for my daughter to have a small cavity filled. Everything went very well. Ava, the assistant, was especially helpful and friendly. We love Young Family Dental! Thank you!

I’ve been a patient at Young Family Dental for the last few months and have had quite a bit of dental work done, including multiple fillings throughout my mouth and two crowns. By the time I’m finished, I’ll have been in nine different times, including my cleaning appointment. Overall, my experience has been positive, and I will continue going back. The front desk staff has always been professional, friendly, and helpful. The dentists I’ve seen have all been kind, professional, and have done quality work. Courtney, one of the dental assistants, deserves special recognition. When I first came in and learned how much work needed to be done, she took the time to answer all of my questions, explained everything thoroughly, and made me feel comfortable. She has been absolutely wonderful throughout the process. That being said, there have been some frustrations. The biggest issue for me has been communication regarding my treatment plan. There were a couple of times when I thought certain fillings were being completed during an appointment, only to find out later that they still needed to be done. Whenever I brought up these concerns, the staff was polite and apologetic, but the miscommunication was still frustrating. Another challenge has been the number of appointments required. As a stay-at-home mom with two young children, finding childcare is extremely difficult, especially after recently losing my mom, who was someone I could always count on for help. I expressed several times that I would prefer to have as much work completed as possible during each visit, even if it meant being numb longer or experiencing more discomfort afterward. I have an high pain tolerance. Instead, many appointments involved relatively small amounts of work that required me to come back repeatedly. While there may be valid reasons for scheduling treatment this way, I don’t feel those reasons were clearly communicated to me. I also had a temporary crown come off twice. The first time happened a few days after placement, and the second time occurred shortly after leaving the office. Courtney was able to get it fixed, and she did a great job helping resolve the issue. Despite some frustrations with communication and scheduling, the staff has always treated me with kindness and respect. The quality of care has been good, and everyone I’ve interacted with has been professional. My advice to future patients would be to ask detailed questions before leaving each appointment so you have a clear understanding of exactly what was completed and what still needs to be done. Overall, I would still recommend Young Family Dental and appreciate the care they’ve provided.
