He was very knowledgeable on both equipments and answered every question we had. He took his time showing my sons nurse and I how to use the equipment. Definitely recommend this company and will be getting future equipment from them too!
- HHHonestlyIsTheOnlyWayJun 5, 20265.0Being evaluated for a scooter at 50 just to have somewhat of a life is depressing to say the least! I wish I could remember the gentleman’s name that did the evaluation (maybe Nathaniel?), but he made that part not so bad! I don’t know if ins is getting it for me yet, but I was assured if they deny it that he would be applying it so that made me feel better about the process! Rather that’s because he knows for sure I need it or that’s just protocol it was reassuring! I have named her Majestic I’m weird I know, but you have to make light of things sometimes and just be silly about it to not cry! My knee scooter I had to use so much name was skip! He listened through all my trying not to cry jokes and even rolled with the punches! I would highly recommend him as the evaluation go to person!! I will try and update when and if I’m able to bring Majestic home! And show a picture of her after she gets a bling job!!
- LGLisbeth GunterApr 24, 20261.0Since moving to Tyler I have attempted to order 2 products from NS&M, both orders have had multiple issues. Both the local office and national helpline have poor communication and fail to execute on basic tasks like coordinating with insurance. When I’ve complained to the local rep in Tyler, he said he was very overwhelmed and given too many orders to work on. Orders go unprocessed for months at a time or are fulfilled inaccurately. My doctor sent over an order in September 2025 that is still in the pipeline in April 2026. I’ve worked with multiple durable medical companies while living in Houston and I’ve never seen such laziness and incompetence from management and reps. This office needs a major inquiry into their communication processes and the company at large needs to fill in the gaps when local reps are overwhelmed.

How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
