IF YOU’RE PRESCRIBED ANY CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE DO NOT COME TO THIS PHARMACY! I’ve never dealt with a more disrespectful, unprofessional pharmacy, both over the phone & in person. I noticed the rudeness here, but it got worse, especially if you’re picking up anxiety meds or anything controlled. They act like you’re trying to score street drugs instead of filling a legitimate prescription. 🤣 a week ago, I called (2x) to confirm my refill. The female tech assured me it would be ready on a specific date. The HEB app even showed it as “being prepared” once that day hit. I planned around it, especially since I’ve been running back and forth multiple times a week helping my grandmother with her stage 3 cancer appointments. My doctor had zero issues and even sent in a vacation override last month for that exact reason. But for HEB? Suddenly it’s now “too early” and pushed back another TEN days. They must have triggered some internal “early fill” flag after the vacation one, even though everything was doctor approved. (Double approved at that!)
I called to confirm before driving over. Rude response right away: “We just opened.” Not my point at all. I asked to speak to the pharmacist because I wanted to file a formal complaint about staff and the app giving wrong pickup dates—wasting my time, gas, and spiking my anxiety like crazy. That’s when Aaron (male pharmacist working 8-9am on April 15th) got on the line and turned it into a 10-minute interrogation. First thing out of his mouth: let me ask this first “Are you out of your meds?” In such a rude tone, I said no, explained clearly that I understand controlled substance laws and wasn’t trying to fill early—my only issue was being told the wrong date for weeks by both employees & website, unfair & stressful for patients, especially w/ anxiety. (Who is he to ask anyways, he is NOT a DR or my DR)
He wouldn’t let it go. Kept arguing, & saying “if you feel like you need more than 30 days, talk to your doctor,” circling back to assumptions about me running out. I kept repeating: “I understand it cannot be filled early—that is NOT my complaint. My complaint is the misinformation so this doesn’t happen to other patients.” He just kept pushing. When I asked if he’d even know which tech it was (female, a week ago), he said he’d “talk to the females.” I asked for his name he first sarcastically said “Yup,” then “Aaron,”. The whole call felt like he was above it all and I was wasting his time.
I’m so glad I recorded the entire conversation—it’s all facts, not just my word. This kind of treatment made my anxiety so much worse, especially dealing with family health stuff on top of it. They go out of their way to make simple refills hell, even when your doctor jumps through hoops. I know the laws on controlled substances, but patients shouldn’t get firm dates from techs or the app if the pharmacist is the only one who can truly confirm. Techs shouldn’t confirm 100% if they legally can’t. After that nightmare, I switched to Walmart immediately. They processed all 3 of my prescriptions (Clonazepam 0.5mg, Sertraline 25mg, and 50mg) with zero drama or judgment—no assumptions, no interrogation, smooth as it should be. Save yourself the headache, the anxiety spike, and the wasted trip. If you’re on any controlled substances (even basic anxiety meds like half a 0.5 Klonopin as needed), avoid this location. They’ll judge you, push dates back as far as possible, and treat you like you’re trying to abuse something instead of just getting what your doctor prescribed. They made a stressful situation so much worse. I’m filing complaints because this isn’t okay. You can report potential violations to the Texas State Board of Pharmacy about things like giving inaccurate refill info that affects patient safety & health, or unprofessional conduct if it misleads patients on controlled substances, especially when it causes real harm like extra anxiety. HEB corporate needs to hear about Aaron & the team here too, glad I switched. Do yourself a favor & go ANYWHERE else. Aaron-DO BETTER! Good riddance.
