Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I have been going here for over 15 years and I typically don't post reviews, it has been too long dealing with one specific pharmacy tech not to comment. Although the efficiency is good, this woman is rude every time every time I have been there for over a decade..don't interact with her if you are not well and need medication. Everyone else that I have delt with there is friendly, and I love that they have text updates.

A random customer asked me to translate for her. I walked up to an increidibly rude pharmacist who was more concerned about washing her hands than helping this woman in visible distress. The issue was that the customer did not receive her blood pressure medication and I asked the pharmacist what to do to get the right medication. Her replies: "Those are the prescriptions we have (that were sent to us)" "She does not know what she is taking?" "If she takes this medicine with her, she can not return it" Those are not out of context, we asked for a resolution, but instead received irate tangential responses that did nothing to solve the issue. Eventually, not with the help of the pharmacist, the customer went back to her doctor/clinic to request the rigth prescription be sent. Something so simple, turned into drama, thanks to the lack of emphaty from a pharmacist who saw a tearful immigrant woman and went into rage mode because the customer dared request the right blood pressure medication in broken English. I will not name the pharmacist publicly, but for Kroger's reference, she was blond, curly, 60ish and grumpy as f&#%. She worked the afternoon 3pm shift on 10-25-2022

The pharmacy tech are really nice. They care enough to give great service all the time. They are patient with me and never fuss at me if I'm late picking up prescriptions. Much better than that evil CVS. The way they handled change of insurance was greatness. The lady pharmacist with blonde hair been helpful too. Nice job you all. 👏 extended review. Jennifer always takes time to encourage me as I have mental illness i admit. And makes me cry tears of joy that she cares about me. I'm never a number here. I'm a person who is respected and liked. My compliments that on Monday February 20,2023 they stayed open extra and polite the while it was past closing by a few min

The pharmacist running the show is the worst! Incredibly rude, angry and unreasonable. She will talk down to you and will make you want to go write a post on Google Maps about how bad she is and bring up the pharmacy’s average customer reviews of 2.5 stars. And how I’m pretty sure other review posters have been bringing her up in negative reviews for months of not a year plus now. I wrote Kroger Customer Service and hope they finally take note.

Absolutely horrific. Rudest, most totalitarian, argumentative tyrant of a pharmacy manager I've ever come across in my 50 years on earth. And the tech staff is no better. I'd say equally as rude and tyrannical. It's clear the tone of the entire operation is set from the top. Use Kroger Pharmacy at Coit & Independence in Plano. I can't say enough good things about the manager and entire staff at that location. Avoid this Kroger Pharmacy at Beltline and Coit, or trust me and the many others on here you'll regret it. I don't know where they got this Pharmacy Manager, but they need to send her back. She IS that awful of a human being.
