Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I've never had an issue at this pharmacy! Scripts are filled quickly, and I like getting the texts for refills, instead of having to call every time.

Honestly just go somewhere else. The pharmacy techs are nice, but the on staff pharmacist has horrible manners and zero people skills. Trying to get any information out of her was like pulling teeth and was very stone wallish about answering any questions I had. I've been to many pharmacies around the DFW area and never had any of them be this unhelpful, rude, or roll their eyes at me while I asked questions. If she hates her job so much she should find something else to do because it's appalling to have someone working in the last leg of the medical industry have that type of behavior considering that is the duty of a pharmacist, to answer questions and assist patients when they have issues with their medications.

I had to go to the ER on the 20th of April. We told the doctor to send my prescriptions to this Kroger because it was close to us and cheap. We arrived 15 minutes before closing time unfortunately but I needed the medicine. The first think the lady asks me is (I don’t know her name but she seemed of Asian descent, long black hair) if we can wait till tomorrow morning because “we are about to close in 15 minutes and I need to start getting everything ready”. I told her “I’m sorry I need it now.” She said, “Ok go sit down over there”. I said, “No thank you.” She walks away. Then from where she’s standing she yells out to me, “You can sit down”, with a passive-aggressive tone. I had to say again “I’m ok. Thank you.” Then my grandmother asks her if she could use her Kroger card. The pharmacists says, “Not right now.” Again, passive-aggressive tone. She was completely unprofessional and flat-out rude. She was clearly upset at the fact we showed up 15 minutes before close. I’m sorry that I had to go to the ER and get medicine.. like what? You never know what someone’s condition is and if they need that medicine right that second. Needs to be more professional & they were still taking people at the window 5 minutes before close so clearly she was the only one with the problem.. I also want to add that my prescription was for Xanax due to my high anxiety .. maybe THATS why she had a problem but you never know somebody’s situation..

I’m an mma fighter and I’m having some issues with cauliflower ear. I came in asking for a syringe so I can drain the hematoma developing on my left ear, and the woman at the counter stared at me like I was a drug addict and denied me service... not sure if this is a new policy or not, but the Walmart down the street had no issues. It isn’t against the law so I don’t see what your angle is. Never using Kroger for pharmacy again!

Great pharmacists, very friendly and fast to help you with any questions/concerns! Wylie my husband was kit of work, he got really sick. His prescriptions were very expensive and the pharmacist went online and scanned a coupon from their website so that we could afford to buy his medications.
