Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I've always had patience with this pharmacy due to increasing Adderall shortages and although as a patient I should be entitled to a courtesy call whenever they could not fill my Rx- I also understand as busy as this pharmacy is there should be a level of grace given on my end but ,THAT GRACE ENDS TODAY. I have been an established patient at this location since 2022 and as a student that moved to the houston area for school I have had to switch my visits with my doctors to telemedicine. Just this morning the pharmacist had his staff call me to inform me that he was refusing to fill my Rx for this month because " the shortages make it necessary for him to prioritize the available medication for the patients that see their doctors in person in the local area" When I explained my situation (again because I have informed them of my situation before) I questioned him on why this was all of a sudden a new rule that Kroger was enforcing, He corrected me by stating that this was not a Kroger issue but a DEA policy and as a pharmacist it was at his discretion to dispense my medication. I told him "this is an all of a sudden change, I have been an established patient of this pharmacy since 2022 and now you are just making me aware this issue when I need my medication filled for the month of February. I wish this pharmacy had the courtesy to inform me after my last refill in January so I have adequate time to find a new pharmacy without medication delay. This pharmacists staff also mentioned that this was a new 2025 policy which was also false because the DEA issued an extension on allowing telemedicine Rx for Adderall through December 2025. Also they dispensed my Rx for the month of January 2025 so theres another inconsistency in their explanation and poor service. In addition to that according to the DEA website a pharmacist can refuse to dispense medication but they have to abide by strict guidelines and a defined list of reasons why and one of those is referring a patient to another pharmacy that can help them which he did not do either, I feel abandoned as a patient, disregarded and discriminated against because as a student I prefer to keep the doctor I am comfortable with after moving to a different city for school, that should not be grounds for deciding another local patient is more qualified to receive their Rx over me. Do better Kroger, this is ridiculous patient service.
