Vaccinations
Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.
This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.
This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.
There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.
These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.
This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.
These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.
Physical & Wellness Screenings
Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.
When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.
Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I don’t believe I’ve ever left a review of a pharmacy before, and I’ve been to my fair share of them. I had a slightly unpleasant experience here months ago and decided afterward to use the N Beach St location instead, where I’ve consistently had positive experiences. However, I have an autoimmune disease and am currently in a flare, so I didn’t want to have to drive 20 minutes when this location is only 5 minutes from my house. I decided to give this pharmacy another chance.
My rheumatologist called in both a pain medication and my immunosuppressant on Wednesday. By Friday evening, I still had not received any text notification that the pharmacy had received them, so I called to check. Within about 5 seconds of answering, I was immediately placed on hold. I don’t mind being placed on hold, but a slightly kinder greeting would have been appreciated. On its own, I would not have thought much of it.
After about two minutes, someone picked back up and asked for my information. She then told me they didn’t have anything ready for me yet and asked, “What were you expecting?” I was honestly taken aback and initially thought I had misheard her, but she repeated the question. I then asked whether my prescriptions had actually been received from my doctor. She asked for the medication names, and after I provided them, she said she could have them ready, then immediately added, “Ooh, not tonight, we close at 8, it’ll have to be tomorrow,” despite it only being around 6 PM at the time.
I asked again, just to clarify, whether the prescriptions had in fact been received from my doctor, and she confirmed that they had. This matched the note in my doctor’s app showing they had been called in Wednesday afternoon.
The issue here is not simply that the prescriptions weren’t ready. I understand pharmacies are busy, and delays happen. What was upsetting was the dismissive and unnecessarily rude communication throughout the interaction, especially when speaking to someone dealing with an active autoimmune flare and trying to confirm whether important medications had even been received. I gave this location another chance because of convenience during a difficult health week, but unfortunately this experience reinforced why I had switched locations previously.
I don’t “expect” this pharmacy to care about this review, especially given the number of negative reviews here that appear to have gone unanswered. What I do hope is that other people see this before choosing this location as their primary pharmacy, understand that this was not an isolated experience for me, and potentially save themselves the frustration and unnecessary rudeness that seems to come with getting medications filled here.

I love this Kroger, so I have been hoping the pharmacy would improve for years, but I am now contacting our family doctors to change our pharmacy on file. Our prescriptions are rarely available the day of-- sometimes even after calling ahead and being assured medication would be ready for pick-up. Yesterday, I was told to come back today to pick up some amoxicillin (!) for my daughter, and today I was asked to come back tomorrow or else pick up in Hurst. We've had too many similar experiences over the past 5 years and are now moving on. Too bad.
