I have been attending Club Pilates locations since 2022 and generally enjoyed the Level 1 and 1.5 classes when I first started. However, I agree with many of the online reviews that describe these classes as overly basic for individuals who are already physically active. To progress to Level 2 classes, members must receive instructor approval. It took me nearly a year and multiple requests before I was finally approved in 2023. Since joining Club Pilates, I have taken 131 classes across the Frisco, Plano, and McKinney locations, including 38 Level 2 and 2.5 classes. After taking a year-long break from Club Pilates and continuing my reformer practice at home, I recently came back to this location. After my 4th level 2 class within 2 weeks in this location, while everyone was still cleaning their reformers, the instructor approached me and loudly stated, "You haven't been approved for Level 2 classes." I responded that I had, in fact, been approved. She replied, again in front of the entire class, that the lead instructor wanted me to be approved because I had supposedly never received approval. Whether or not the instructor believed I needed additional coaching, improved form, or further evaluation is beside the point. Feedback should always be handled privately and professionally, not announced publicly in front of other clients. I found the instructor's approach embarrassing, unnecessary, and highly discouraging. Before confronting me publicly, the instructor could have easily reviewed my history and seen that I had already completed dozens of Level 2 and 2.5 classes across multiple Club Pilates locations and recently completed 3 level 2 classes in the past 2 weeks. This experience also reinforced a concern I have observed over the years: advancing into Level 2 classes felt unnecessarily difficult, likely due to the limited number of Level 2 classes they offer. It felt as if they were trying to limit people from qualifying so that their core group of level 2 people can continue to have their spots. People come to Pilates to improve their health, strength, and confidence. It is bare minimum to be treated with respect. If your goal is to advance your reformer practice beyond beginner-level classes, or if you are someone who would be uncomfortable being singled out in a group setting, this is something to be aware of before committing to Club Pilates. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing enough that I have decided not to return to this or any other Club Pilates location. After more than 130 classes and years as a member, being publicly discouraged in front of an entire class was not how I expected to be treated. There are too many other fitness studios that provide constructive feedback respectfully and professionally for me to continue supporting a company that handled the situation this way.

I just started Pilates in April and do love the workout. However, the problem I have with this studio are all of the charges you have if your schedule changes and you have to cancel out of a class. I am still charged a ridiculous fee even if the waitlist has someone move into my spot. On top of that, the waitlist doesn't really move people off even when there is an open spot. I work out with my daughter and she will still be waitlisted for a class I am in but rarely are classes full. I do the 1.5 classes and MOST of the time there is at least one reformer open, if not two although she doesn't make it off the waitlist. It is also ridiculous that they make you give several weeks advanced notice if you need to pause your membership. I had a surgery moved up so needed to pause my membership sooner and still had to pay for weeks that went unused. Classes are great but the rules in place are very frustrating. There is no reason to charge someone for canceling a class if the spot is filled by another member! You should also be able to pause your account when the need arises as well.
