- TGTommy GoodwynJun 14, 20265.0Michael came by and did A LOT of measurements of me since my leg configurations had changed dramatically since purchasing the chair, he picked it up my sisters house and she was there but I wasn’t, she texted me and told me my chair had been picked up, and I asked her if he had any idea when I would see it again and she said tomorrow, he would call with a time and was going to bring it out to the ranch (where I was about an hour one way ) cause he needed to go over some of the new features on the chair , I thought my sister had misunderstood about tomorrow, but I let it go , and sure enough he was there with my chair by 3:00pm and he went thru how the air pressure setting worked and set them for me just by looking at my screwed up body and told me to see if my wounds started to improve, not just remain somewhat healthy, but actually get better, and to call him in a couple of weeks and let him know so he could walk me through changing one or all the settings!! In the past 3 years I’ve had to deal with people from every aspect of of the medical field there is , there were a few times I thought I had found a doctor that actually gave a shit about me , but they proved me way wrong, but Michael has been 110% on to of his game with me and both my older sisters and I thought that was impossible, if doctors cared about their patients like Michael cares about his , I would probably be walking, I’ve been A paraplegic for only three years I’m 60 years old And it’s been nothing but hell for But I will say all the time I’ve spent with Michael has been very pleasurable moments for me just about the only ones I’ve had in three years y’all have a special guy there. I’m sure your other sales people are as well-versed as he is, but I can’t talk to them. He’s been 110% from before the beginning thank you again. My chair is working fabulous. It’s like it’s just amazing. He knew just exactly what to do to make it as comfortable as possible for me and I cannot thank him enough.

We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
