Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

The Kroger on Broad Street Pharmacy drive through is at a all time low. CUSTOMER SERVICE: 1 out of 10, friendly 1 out of 10. Went yesterday 7-01-26 to pick up parents prescriptions. Not friendly, no greeting, felt like I was putting them out. Today 7-02-26 I drove again 20 minutes and the drive thru lights were red at 7:45pm. Window was open. I drove around twice, second time drive to window, the person looked at me and went back to what she was doing. I reached down and picked up phone. She walked over and ask me birthdate of person i was picking up for. While my prescriptions were being sent out my 8:00pm alarm went off. Next time, photos!

Wow! I have never had issues with Kroger grocery and I usually pick up by medications at Market Street. However, while waiting for my insurance to kick back in it was showing cheaper at Kroger. I called to check to see if my medication was ready after having issues with the automated system. I spoke with someone named Christie who had a super nasty attitude to the point that I left my doctor a message to send my medication to Market Street and I will pay the difference. I don't know if I caught you on a bad day or if this is not your profession of choice but it is apparent that customer service is not your forte Christie!

I officially am having my prescriptions transferred to a different store and definitely not a Kroger! Every time they tell me my meds will be ready, they never are. I called it in 3 days ago! 10 minutes before their lunch, the lady told me I would just have to wait until after their lunch. I'm sorry that your mistake will most definitely not inconvenience you at all.

This is the worst Kroger Pharmacy we have ever dealt with. Everytime we fill a prescription it takes forever to fill it. My Dr called in a script at 1:30 2 weeks ago. I got there at 345 to pick it up. There was a line at the drive thru so I had to wait because there was lines on both sides. I sat for 45 min. The vehicle at the window turned in his prescription and instead of making him pull around they let him sit there. I finally get to the window and give them my info and he says, its going to be another 30-45 min. Mind you I had already been 3+ hours. I asked for a manager. I told her that's not acceptable. I am going to pull around and I need it ready. Today my hisband drops off a script for eye drops which he has to have. His Dr does not call them in so he had no choice to take them to fill it. They told him they would not be ready till the morning. Do these people not know that customers need their meds and sometimes can't wait? The service is horrible. They act like they do not care about the customer. They are extemely slow. I will transfer my prescriptions back to the Matlock store. I will drive the extra distance to get better customer service and not have to wait for my medicine.
