SERVICES Wisdom Teeth removal is the primary scope of our practice. Wisdom teeth or the clinical name third molars are the last teeth to erupt in the oral cavity. The ages between 16 and 26 are the best times to extract these teeth because the roots have not fully formed. Due to space limitations in both the upper and lower jaw many wisdom teeth fail to erupt in an upright position. This causes the wisdom teeth to erupt out of alignment and often become impacted. Impacted wisdom teeth are persistent when erupting and do not halt. As wisdom teeth continue to erupt and expand the impaction causes the tooth to change angles hence effecting the degree of symptoms a patient may experience. Wisdom teeth impactions can often lead to the following symptoms: Pain and discomfort. Inflammation of the gums surrounding the wisdom teeth. Shifting and crowding of the teeth. Tooth Decay on the actual tooth and adjacent teeth. Halitosis or persistent bad breath. Limited mouth opening. Cyst formation. IV sedation will be provided during your appointment by a dental anesthesiologist or general dentist that provides anesthesia services. You will be monitored throughout the entire procedure. Your sedation will be administered and adjusted accordingly to make you the most comfortable throughout the appointment. Once the procedure is completed you will be monitored postoperatively and discharged once you are in stable condition. One of our staff members will escort you in a wheelchair to your guardian’s car for a safe discharge.
