Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Gas Leak??? The pharmacy closed early today, with a temporary closure sign posted inside the pharmacy of Kroger's. I was informed by the Kroger retail manager on duty that another Kroger store might be able to assist me with my wife prescriptionfor her scheduled surgery tomorrow. I contacted that pharmacy via cellphone, and a representative checked if my wife's prescriptions had been filled. They confirmed they had already been filled at the pharmacy I initially visited and they will not be able to help me. I was also informed that the initial pharmacy was closed due to a GAS LEAK, which seemed unusual as the store itself remained open with customers inside. Just in case there was a GAS LEAK, I returned to the Kroger store from the parking lot and informed the manager on duty about what I had been told by the other pharmacy regarding their staff leaving due to a GAS LEAK in which he replied if there was we would be closed also.

I called the pharmacy to get my prescription refilled as my dr instructed me to do every month cause they can not give them in several months ahead or all at once due to it being substance control. I tried to tell Chandra the pharmacist that today before she cut me off 3 times in a row asking me over and over while interrupting me “ do I get text messages when they are ready , do I get text messages when they are ready , do I get text messages when they are ready “ without even listening why I was asking if it was refilled yet and that I have to ask for it to be refilled each month. She finally stopped listening to her own voice long enough to get my info and tell me “yea it’ll be ready in about a hour “ . She could have saved time dealing with me if she just listened to my full sentence before assuming I’m an idiot and speaking to me like I am an incompetent moron that doesn’t understand how refills work . Her attitude was the worst experience I have encountered at a pharmacy . I understand it’s a stressful position but there’s no need to be a rude person and take it out on every customer. If you hate your job then go somewhere else. I literally waited hours to go there to pick it up to avoid her . Sadly I did not , miss congeniality was working the front while she got to speak down to the customers in front of her .

They get too busy. If you have a new escript prescription it takes a week + to get it in if it is a brand name only. It is hard enough to be in severe pain and deal with the doctor and then have to wait over a week to get the meds. I was able to buy a Glock 9mm pistol in one hour with a check on my history and background. But, can't get a much needed pain reliever for over a week. So, we need a similar system for people who have never cheated or even consider cheating on these meds. If properly applied, opioids are a life saver. But, those that have abused this life changing category of drugs ruined it for the majority of us that need them.
