Good workout. Some of the teachers are amazing. And the exercises work when done correctly. But the trouble is some of the time I'm really happy. Other times I leave feeling as though I didn't enjoy my workout nor get a good workout. And i just feel unhappy or more stressed than when i walked in. The classes are jam packed with complex exercises that feel rushed with several changes. Overall, this isn't the studio for me I don't think. Not my vibe and very strict rules.
Class structure: The classes are 50 minutes and lots packed in during that time so it's efficient. However, I would rather take my time and not risk getting injured and such. They pack in a warmup, upper body, quick stretches, thighs, seat (gluten) , core etc. A small ball, band, and hand weights are incorporated. The music changed along with the beat of the exercises which is good.
Often, the exercises have too much going on and too frequent changes. There's just too much to think about and everyone does the exercises wrong if you look around the room so that may confuse you more to watch others :) Sometimes by the time you get the exercise, onto the next. Hard to keep up while doing it all correctly and thinking about all the movements and props. Sometimes you feel you got a tough workout. Other times not so much.
The class changes every day, of course. It is nice to have variety on the plus. But I would like something more in the middle and simpler, more targeted exercises.
Vibe: Some of the teachers are amazing and some (the owner) feel robotic almost. Like the class is memorized /rehearsed and the teacher isn't really connecting with anyone. The good teachers who make the class fun, pretty much are bullied or driven out it seems. It's a shame. The teachers are instructed to be so serious and students can't make a peep, laugh, ask questions, grunt, etc. very rigid at times.
Imp note about class times: if you literally show up thirty seconds late, you absolutely will not be allowed in. They turn you away. Its rough when you fight traffic not to be able to get your workout in. But hey, rules are rules. A very strict studio doesn't suite me, personally.
Working out should be fun! Enjoyable! Not stressful!
I find it odd the studio holds you accountable and is rigid on things that impact you, but the owner has changed class times and people show up not realizing things have changed. It's painful. Some times you plan your day around the schedule. The lack of consistency is frustrating.
Also, I feel as though the owner feels you are lucky to be a part of her studio and doesn't listen to feedback, so don't waste your time if you have suggestions. Example, I asked for more targeted exercises (such as fetal) to be incorporated back, but nope! Any time I've tried to suggest something, I hear a canned speech that's implying "if you don't like it. Tough."
I prefer a studio driven more by the teachers individual style. One that's fun and less rigid. But that’s me!
Other: I wound up buying a lot of retail there :)

Teachers are enthisiastic and push you to your limits! (While keeping it fun and high energy). I have already seen great results and enjoy Pure Barre tremendously! One star off because the room layout can make you have to juggle positioning with your neighbor and that I wish they had >1 bathroom. Those issues aside, the classes are great--I have taken from Susan, Taylor, Christina, and Risa.
