Recently my wife had received Meta a.i. Ray-Ban glasses as a gift but required new lenses. I purchased new prescription lenses with the intention of changing them myself. After spending over an hour attempting to do this on my own, I discovered it was practically impossible because of the shape of the existing prescription lenses in the glasses.
Seeking professional assistance I contacted and then stopped by the Fairfield location where an experienced associate attempted to help me but he also ran onto the same issue. He mentioned to me that if it was possible to be done I should reach out to Matt at the Willowbrook location. I was feeling a bit desperate when I later contacted Matt out of the blue as a last resort. After explaining the issue to him he responded in a positive and confident way to stop on by and he would be happy to see what he could do to help.
I stopped by later in the day and Matt spent a generous amount of time attempting to remove the lenses in the recommended fashion. Unfortunately he experienced the same issues I did (at least thankfully confirming that it wasn't user error). However I was now becoming more concerned that I might have wasted my money and that changing the lenses might not be possible. Not being content with a lack of success, Matt then proceeded to come up with a creative and clever solution to remove the old lenses (even cutting his hand as a thank you for his efforts). He then finished by snapping the replacement lenses in place to complete the process. Oh, and did I mention that I did not purchase the frame or lenses from LensCrafters? Wow, what service and what a relief!
It is indeed heartening to know that there are great folks like Matt out there who are willing to take the time and graciously provide their expertise to others in need. LensCrafters should take great pride in having associates like Matt on their team; positively representing their company values and brand. Rest assured, I will be sure to continue to share my positive experience at LensCrafters with others and look forward to becoming a customer in the future. Thank you Matt!

Gissel is wonderful with whom to work! She greeted us immediately and shared her smile and knowledge. She helped us find the perfect frame for our faces and assisted us with the purchase of the frames and correct ad-ons for the lenses. I highly recommend Lens Crafters! And I especially recommend working with Gissel.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
