Since 2002, Dr. Bernardino Arocha has been providing patients throughout Houston and beyond with customized hair restoration procedures and truly transformative results. His interest in hair restoration began in his 20s when he started to experience hair loss himself. He understands the psychological and emotional toll hair loss can have on an individual, which is why he has dedicated his career to helping patients experience the same elevated quality of life that hair restoration has provided him.
If you've noticed thinning or balding and want to address it with the help of a board-certified surgeon, we can help you explore your options. Using his artistic eye and detail-oriented approach, Dr. Arocha can bring back your confidence and elevate your quality of life with a fuller head of hair.
Dr. Arocha personally experienced hair loss in his 20s. This sparked his passion for hair restoration and gives him a unique desire to resolve his patients' issues. When you choose him, you get a highly skilled surgeon who understands exactly what you're going through.
Dr. Arocha's personal experience inspires him to create a soothing environment. Our boutique-like office filled with stunning art relaxes patients throughout their time with us.
At Arocha Hair Restoration, we provide cutting-edge solutions to address eyebrow hair loss. Our advanced treatments can reshape and restore the eyebrows, employing both surgical and non-surgical techniques commonly used to effectively treat pattern baldness.
Dr. Arocha offers free consultations that can be conducted at his Houston hair restoration office or virtually over FaceTime, WhatsApp, and Zoom. During your complimentary consultation, he will evaluate your needs and talk with you about the options available to you. He can then create a treatment plan that is customized to your individual goals.
While each patient’s needs vary, the revision hair transplantation procedure usually involves the removal of some of the hair follicles from the initial treatment followed by the transplantation of new hair follicles from the donor area. Dr. Arocha will pay careful attention to overall aesthetics and provide precise restoration that is more in keeping with your original goals and expectations.
SMP by Dr. Bernardino Arocha in Houston, TX, artfully achieves the appearance of fuller, denser hair by essentially tattooing certain areas of your scalp. It can also reduce the visibility of scars resulting from previous strip harvesting or follicular unit extraction (FUE) treatments. It is very popular among those who wear a closely shaved hairstyle, but it can also benefit those who wear longer hairstyles.
While SMP is widely available, Dr. Arocha is the only doctor in Texas providing tricopigmentation, which is a safer and more realistic-looking variation of the SMP technique.
A beard transplant is a procedure that defies genetics, giving you the chance to enjoy a complete and natural facial hair look. Like a hair transplant, follicles are taken from a donor area, often the back of your scalp, and transplanted to specific areas on your face.
Follicular unit transplantation (FUT) is a modern method of hair restoration that can improve and rebuild hairlines that have been impacted by androgenetic alopecia, otherwise known as age-related hair loss. Despite its prevalence among both middle-aged men and women, research regarding the cause of hair loss remains inconclusive and a solution remains elusive.
Hair transplantation surgery is the number one way to combat the effects of androgenetic alopecia and completely transform a balding head of hair. At Arocha Hair Restoration and Transplant Center, Dr. Arocha regularly performs FUT for his patients interested in restoring their hair using the latest in modern treatment options.
For the millions of men and women who suffer from male and female pattern baldness, known medically as androgenetic alopecia, finding a solution to their thinning hair can have a direct influence on their self-esteem. With the social stigma attached to going bald, especially for those at a young age or for female patients, finding the most effective treatment for counteracting age-related hair loss can be imperative for an individual’s overall happiness.
At Arocha Hair Restoration and Transplant Center, Dr. Bernardino Arocha and his expert staff are proud to offer all manner of hair loss treatments, including advanced procedures like follicular unit excision, formerly follicular unit extraction, or (FUE). Using the latest in hair restoration methods like FUE, Dr. Arocha can rebuild your hairline and your self-confidence.
At Arocha Hair Restoration, our board-certified surgeon creates remarkable results by combining his artistic eye with advanced hair restoration techniques. These techniques are not the "hair plug" treatments of the past: our state-of-the-art procedures are designed to restore your hair's natural appearance.
Frequently Asked Questions About Arocha Hair Restoration
What is a FUT?
A FUT or Follicular Unit Transplantation is a modern method of hair restoration that can improve and rebuild hairlines that have been impacted by androgenetic alopecia, otherwise known as age-related hair loss.
What is the FUT procedure like?
FUT is completed using local anesthesia to numb the scalp. Once the patient has been numbed, Dr. Arocha removes a strip of hair from a predetermined location along the back or sides of the scalp. He then sutures the scalp shut using dissolvable stitches to close the excision.
What is the recovery like for a FUT?
FUT is completed on an outpatient basis, meaning patients are free to return home the same day as the procedure. Side effects of the surgery include scalp redness, swelling and tenderness.
What is the FUE procedure like?
FUE is completed under local anesthesia to ensure the procedure is painless and the patient is comfortable throughout the duration of their treatment. Once the patient has been numbed, Dr. Arocha begins extracting follicular units from the viable donor sites.
What is recovery like after a FUE?
Following FUE, the scalp will be swollen and sensitive. Patients return home the same day and may resume most normal activities within a few days. Common side effects include light bleeding, tenderness, mild pain, itching and swelling.
When will a patient see results after having a FUE procedure?
The newly-transplanted follicular units will shed their hair two or three weeks following FUE hair transplant surgery.
What is a hair transplant?
Hair transplants work by harvesting healthy follicular units—each one containing one to four strands of hair—and transplanting them into balding areas of the scalp.
What are the different types of hair transplants?
There are several different types of hair transplants including FUT (follicular unit transplantation) and FUE (follicular unit extraction).
What are the side effects for a hair transplant?
Common side effects for a hair transplant include scalp redness, scabbing, swelling, and mild pain. Sleeping with an elevated head will help reduce swelling and facilitate a faster recovery.
What is hair restoration/replacement procedure?
Hair replacement surgery typically involves the harvesting of natural, healthy hairs from the back and/or sides of the head and relocating them to the areas of lost hair.
What is recovery like for hair restoration?
Recovery from hair replacement surgery is typically quick and relatively painless. Any mild discomfort in the days following treatment can often be alleviated with over-the-counter pain medication.
When will a patient see results after having a hair restoration procedure?
After hair restoration surgery, the transplanted hairs will first grow and then fall out within about three or four weeks – this is normal.
What hair restoration services do you offer?
Our office offers hair transplant and hair restoration procedures including FUE hair transplant, FUT hair transplant, hair replacement surgery, and more!
What insurance do you accept?
While insurance won't contribute to the cost of your hair restoration, we are proud to work with CareCredit®, a third-party lender that allows qualifying patients to pay for their treatment in affordable monthly installments.
Where can I park for my appointment?
We offer parking in front of our building for our patients.
Do you offer consultations over the phone?
Our team wants anyone who's interested in hair restoration to be able to attend a consultation. We offer free virtual consultations over FaceTime, WhatsApp, and Zoom so patients outside Houston—or those who have busy schedules—can conveniently explore their options.
